(Cont’d): The successful efforts against illegal internet service providers can be attributed to PTA’s unwavering commitment, continuous monitoring, and persistent efforts to curb illegal internet services. These actions are crucial in preventing tax evasion and revenue misreporting, thus curtailing loss to the national exchequer.
PTA urges the public to only avail telecom services from PTA licensed operators to avoid sudden discontinuation of service. The list of licensed operators is available at PTA website: www.pta.gov.pk

The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) Zonal Office in Lahore, in close collaboration with the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), Corporate Crime Circle (CCC) Lahore crackdown against illegal internet service providers in Lahore. Two successful raids were carried out at M/s Chabariya Internet Service (Internet Cable and Wireless Service Provider) and M/s Brother Cable Net, both located at Javed Colony, Ghazi Road, Lahore.
During the raids, both premises were found to be operating unauthorized internet service distribution setups without the valid license and 02 individuals were arrested, including the owner of the setup. In addition the telecom equipment was also recovered fron the locations.

The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA), in collaboration with TikTok, successfully organized a Community Guidelines Training Workshop. The workshop was attended by over 100 participants, including senior PTA officers, representatives from relevant government organizations, academia, civil society, and the digital sector.
During the workshop, experts from TikTok’s Trust and Safety team conducted a comprehensive training session on the platform’s Community Guidelines, content moderation framework, reporting mechanisms, and measures adopted to promote user safety. The training enhanced participants’ understanding of TikTok’s policies and the platform’s approach to fostering a safe and responsible online environment.
Chairman PTA, Major General (R) Hafeez Ur Rehman, HI (M), SI, addressed the workshop and emphasized that ensuring a safe, trusted, and responsible digital environment requires sustained collaboration among regulators, digital platforms, and all relevant stakeholders.

مذاہب، رسالت یا مقدس شخصیات کی توہین،
کسی بھی فرد یا ادارے کے خلاف اشتعال انگیز مواد،
دفاع اور دیگر قومی اداروں کے خلاف نفرت انگیز اور جھوٹا پروپیگنڈا،
فحش، غیر اخلاقی مواد اور جعلی خبروں کی تشہیر
پیکا ایکٹ 2016 کے تحت غیر قانونی اور قابلِ گرفت جرم ہیں۔
