The SAARC Arbitration Council (SARCO) commemorated the 40th Anniversary of the SAARC Charter Day at its Secretariat in Islamabad, Pakistan.
Coinciding with this event, the Secretary General of SAARC, H.E. Ambassador Md. Golam Sarwar launched the third version of SARCO’s official website (https://sarco-sec.org). The new website is designed to provide user-friendly access to information on SARCO’s services, activities, and resources related to arbitration and mediation within the SAARC region.
Speaking on the occasion, the Secretary General highlighted the importance of strengthening regional institutions in light of huge potential for trade, commerce and investment opportunities within the SAARC region. H.E. commended SARCO’s efforts in promoting arbitration and mediation as effective dispute resolution tools, and provided valuable suggestions for SARCO to increase its reach and visibility.
The leadership of SARCO reaffirmed its commitment to contributing to SAARC’s broader objectives by providing a neutral, efficient, and professional forum for the settlement of commercial and investment disputes within the SAARC region.
