Social media is the combination of different internet applications. The most useable internet applications in Pakistan are these:
Yahoo, Google (a search engine),
Gmail, Facebook,Twitter & Whatsapp.
Let's see the short introduction of these social media applications.
Yahoo: It was founded by Jerry Yang and David File in 1995. It is a social application where people chat and share their materials to each other.
Google (a search engine): It was founded by Larry page and Sargey Brin in 1998. Google is the world's largest search engine. Where is saved every kind of Data and information. People can search and also they can upload their materials at this search engine.
Gmail: It was founded by Paul Buchheit in 2004. Gmail is helps people to mailing data and information in seconds.
Facebook: It was founded by Mark Zuckerberg in 2004. Facebook is very useful and usable application in the world. People from different countries are easily connected with each other at Facebook, Where people can chat, comment,share and aslo they can upload any thing.
Twitter: It is founded by Jack Dorsey in 2006. Twitter is very useful application where people from different countries can share their information as well as most of people use this application for recording their strikes at world level by using Hash tags.
Whatsapp: It is founded by Brian Acton and Jan Koum in 2009. Whatsapp brings easiness for it's users to share their materials in seconds.
It was short introduction of the most useful and useable social media applications in Pakistan and everything has two sides like wise Social media has also two sides with different aspects one is merits and other is demerits. So, Let's see the merits and demerits of social media in Pakistan.
There are many merits and demerits of using social media in Pakistan some are below.
Merits of social media in Pakistan:
1. Before the foundation of social media, People were facing many difficulties to send their messages to each other but after the foundation of social media it became easy for people to send their messages.
2. People can download any data and information about any thing. Now, people have not to goto anywhere for finding any knowledge. They can easily get what they want to know in seconds by clicking buttons.
3. People can connect easily with those who are abroad. It possible with the help of social media.
4. Social media is playing a good role in Pakistan. Due to it every person can share News, Informations, Justice and injustice without any barriers.
5. Social media connects Pakistanies with each other and it helps them to inform about the circumstances of Pakistan. It is playing a vital role to aware the Pakistanies regarding every aspects of the country.
Demerits of social media in Pakistan:
1. Most of people in Pakistan are using social media applications without any aim and they are just wasting their time instead of spending their precious time with doing good activities.
2. The huge figure of youngster in Pakistan are using social media in whole day just for entertainment that is not good for them and also for their future.
3. In Pakistan most of people are using social media by doing rough activities.
4. Those who are using social media continuously by smartphones or tablets so, due to this their eye sight is becoming weak and it also effects their mental and physical health.
5. Now in Pakistan children are also using social media without any reason they are becoming addicted of it that is harmful for them from every aspects.
