Location: Sindh University Employees Cooperative Housing Society (SUECHS) is located 25.412638 degrees N, 68.274605 degrees E, between N-55 and the Indus river right bank railway track that runs parallel to the KB feeder and covers eastern flank of the SUECHS, while Highway M-9 borders on its south and Faculty of Pharmacy and other academic institutions of the University of Sindh enclose its north side. Administratively it falls in taluka Kotri of the district Jamshoro, Sindh.

Concept: The SUECHS has been established on about two hundred acres of land leased to the employees of the University of Sindh to construct houses. As such, the land belongs to the University of Sindh while the university employees that qualify to be the members own the construction. It is legal to develop the land and the locality in accordance with cooperative principles, for the benefit of its members and the SUECHS has been empowered to do all things it deems necessary or expedient for the accomplishment of its objectives specified in its bye-laws.

Objectives: For achieving its objectives, the SUECHS has the authority to raise funds by entrance fee, by floating shares and raising loans, by obtaining donations and contributions towards houses and land, by way of imposing fines and penalties and by any other means authorised by the Managing Committee (MC) of the SUECHS and permitted by law of the land.

Membership: The SUECHS maintains a register of its original members and memberships granted on the basis of applications submitted by the employees of the University of Sindh in accordance with the ByeLaws of the SUECHS. The current practice of making new members requires an employee of the University of Sindh to submit an application to the MC of the SUECHS for its scrutiny and placing it before a General Meeting for electing a new member by a majority vote. Heirs of a deceased member can also be inducted as new Members in accordance with the rules laid out in the ByeLaws of the SUECHS.
