Self Defence and Fi****ms Safety (SDFS) Program’ for college & university students is a social responsibility initiative of Security & Emergency Services Division of City Police, under the auspices of Sindh Police. Self Defence and Fi****ms Safety (SDFS) program presents the skills and tools to deve

lop a personal defence plan for each individual. SDFS instructors assist the students in identifying specific threats to safety at home and work, and during traveling
Students will learn how to protect themselves in various situations by learning self-defence techniques. Students will be briefed about weapon awareness, security awareness, threat management and survival techniques. Students will have a live-fire exercise, and will be awarded a certification after the session is completed. Objectives:
The goal of the SDFS program is to provide a practical introduction to fi****ms through the explanation of gun nomenclature, operation, and fundamental shooting skills. Students will learn personal safety and self defence techniques as well as safe firearm handling techniques and develop their skills during training, before moving to our state-of-the-art shooting range for a live-fire exercise. It will provide basics of Martial Arts & Self-defence Techniques that will help students understand and apply in real life. Modules
Introduction of the program and the facility Personal safety measures in emergency situations Basic Martial Arts & self-defence awareness & survival techniques Introduction of weapons and handling Shooting techniques Live fire & demonstration Training components
1. Unarmed Self defence (Punches, Kicks, Blocks, Locks ) 4. Disarmingthe attacker without using weapon 5. Using situation and environment against the attacker to defend one's self and others. 6. Laws about self defence


Learning Outcomes:
The training aims to educate the youth and others in general to combat the nefarious activities of terrorists and non-state elements improving confidence, mental resilience, self-defence techniques, weapons awareness, security awareness, threat management and survival techniques. Students who get general awareness about martial arts and self-defence will learn techniques which will keep them to remain safe from any physical harm. They will become more confident, active and responsible citizens.

During the training, delegation was briefed about martial arts, firing and the use of different types of weapons. The purpose of the course was to make delegation aware of various precautions in case of any emergency or terrorist attack. The delegation also made shooting practice practically.
The delegation also visited various departments of SSU headquarters and commended the professional standard maintained and efforts to further enhance the capabilities of SSU Commandos.
Later, SP Abdullah Memon distributed certificates amongst the participants.

On directives of DIG Security and Emergency Services Division Maqsood Ahmed, a self-defence and fi****ms safety course was organized at SSU Headquarters wherein, 38 students of IBA Sukkur participated who hailed from different parts of the country.
The purpose of the course was to acquaint students with various precautions in case of any emergency or untoward incident. During the training, students were briefed about martial arts, firing and the use of different types of weapons. Later, the students also made shooting practice practically.
The students also visited various sections of SSU headquarters and lauded the professional standards maintained and efforts to further enhance the capabilities of SSU Commandos.
On this occasion, DIG Security and Emergency Services Division Maqsood Ahmed said that SSU has launched recently fi****ms and self-defence training for university students as this is the need of the hour to make students aware about the self-defence and basic firearm training.
Later, DIG Maqsood Ahmed presented certificates to the students.

Ladiesfund is a non-governmental organisation established in 2007 as an initiative to provide financial security to women and to promote and train women entrepreneurs.
The purpose of the course was to acquaint the members with various precautions in case of any emergency or untoward incident. During the training, participants were briefed about martial arts, firing and the use of different types of weapons. Later, they also made shooting practice practically.
The delegation also visited various sections of SSU headquarters and lauded the professional standards maintained and efforts to further enhance the capabilities of SSU Commandos.
On this occasion, DIG Security and Emergency Services Division Maqsood Ahmed said that it is the need of the hour to make masses and students aware about the self-defence and basic firearm training. It is worth appreciating that students and citizens are taking interest in the course. SSU and Security Division would always offer its services in this regard.
DIG Security further stated that SSU believes in gender equality and offers equal opportunity to men & women to excel their capabilities in order to serve the nation.

On the directives of DIG Security and Emergency Services Division Maqsood Ahmed, a self-defence and fi****ms safety course was conducted at SSU Headquarters wherein, 30 students of National Textile University Karachi participated.
The purpose of the course was to make students aware of various precautions in case of any emergency or terrorist attack. During the training, students were briefed about martial arts, firing and the use of different types of weapons. Later, the students also made shooting practice practically.
The students also visited various departments of SSU headquarters and appreciated the professional standard maintained and efforts to further enhance the capabilities of SSU Commandos.
On this occasion, the DIG Security and Emergency Services Division said that interest of students in self-defence exercises is worth appreciating and it has been initiated considering the need of the hour.
Later, Security Officer SSU Muzaffar Iqbal presented certificates to the students.
