πŸ‡΅πŸ‡° Pakistan’s Coastal Community is mostly related to fishing business. Due to restrictions imposed on fishing by the Govt (because of COVID19) vis-Γ -vis less demand of the market, fishermen community is left with no source of income. As per survey report, approximately 25,000 to 30,000 families were identified to be impacted and ration distribution was initiated on 01 April 2020 in coordination with donors/ philanthropists, Pakistan Navy Women Associations and Sahil Welfare Association.

πŸ₯˜ So far, ration bags comprising of flour, sugar, rice, cooking oil etc have been distributed to more than 9500 families. Efforts are also being made to donate safety equipment to the hospitals and provide blood donations to Thalassemia patients.

⚠️ However, a large number of families are still waiting for support. Please help them by providing donations.

Pakistan’s Coastal Community is mostly involved in the fishing business. Due to restrictions imposed on fishing by the Govt (because of COVID19) and less demand, 30,000 fishermen are left with no source of income. So far, ration bags comprising of flour, sugar, rice, cooking oil etc have been distributed to some families by Pakistan Navy to help. Unfortunately, 70% families are still waiting for support.

πŸ‘¨β€πŸ‘¦β€πŸ‘¦This is Achaar Zangejo from Sujawal who works in a goldsmith shop and has 6 kids. On 18th April 2020, he went to DC Sujawal office to protest because of starvation of his family (due to unavailability of ration) and warned them that if the government doesn't help him he will commit sucide.

πŸ‡΅πŸ‡° Upon coverage of his protest in media, Pakistan Navy found him and immediately delivered ration bag to his house in Sujawal.

❓ Did you know that the masks we are distributing are 50% less costly than the surgical masks available in the market today? They just cost 20 Rs: 5Rs for making + 15 Rs for material.

❓Do you want to know how did we make that possible?

We realized that we have surgical gauze (dressing) and surgical lint (superior dressing cloth that is highly absorbent) in our medical stores. This mask is made up of outer layer (surgical lint) and inner 4 ply gauze and covers the nose and mouth adequately. A normal surgical mask comes in 1 ply or 3 ply configuration, by comparison this mask is 5 ply. The mask is stitched with minor adjustments through our own sources. It is also mass produced for our civilian population and whole units. Masks are reusable/washable
