Karachi witnessed yet another assault on the right to dissent today. As protestors gathered to demand justice, the State responded with force—arresting those who dared to speak. History repeats itself, and each time, the weight of unhealed wounds grows heavier.
We do not have to agree on everything to recognize when injustice is unfolding before our eyes. We do not have to share the same struggles to see when voices are being silenced. If we let hatred—misogyny, racism, dehumanization—define our responses, then we are complicit in the forces that seek to break us apart.
A nation that devours its own—its workers, its women, its truth-seekers—will not survive. There is no future in this endless cycle of repression and violence. The only way forward is through justice, through dialogue, through a politics of courage, not fear.
Watch these moments closely. History will ask where we stood.
