It is with great sadness and resilience that the family of Shahid Amin announces his passing on April 28th 2023, at the age of 87.
Shahid Amin passed away peacefully at his home in Karachi, Pakistan surrounded by his family and loved ones. He is survived by his wife Parveen, and his children Farah, Yousuf, Faisal, Hasan, and Ahmad. He will be lovingly remembered by all those who knew him.
He was a veteran Pakistani diplomat, spending 39 years in the foreign service. Since his retirement from foreign service, he remained an active voice of Pakistan, speaking on national television and writing extensively for newspapers on foreign policy and national affairs. Since 1999, he was a visiting professor for International Relations and Pakistan Studies in IoBM in Karachi, where he taught for over 20 years.
He was great man who had a deep love for Pakistan. He was honest and hardworking, with incredible intellect and a driving passion for cricket. He was well-spoken and had a love of Urdu poetry. He was a man of integrity and provided for his family in every way. He understood the true meaning of humility and grace, coming from a modest upbringing and becoming a self-made man. He achieved everything he wanted to achieve in his lifetime.
The Janaza will take place on April 29th at 1.15pm in Ayesha Masjid Phase 6 (Next to PSO Petrol Station Creek Club).
