𝐒𝐄𝐏𝐀 𝐢𝐧𝐬𝐩𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐝𝐫𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐫𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐬 𝐞𝐧𝐯𝐢𝐫𝐨𝐧𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐥 𝐥𝐚𝐩𝐬𝐞𝐬 𝐢𝐧 𝐌𝐢𝐫𝐩𝐮𝐫𝐤𝐡𝐚𝐬
Mirpurkhas: Sindh Environmental Protection Agency (SEPA) District Office Mirpurkhas conducted environmental compliance inspections of various industrial units and municipal waste dumping sites on the directives of Director General SEPA Waqar Hussain Phulpoto, where significant violations of environmental laws are observed.
The SEPA team inspected Super Khan Bricks Kiln Company, Nazar Khan Bricks Kiln Company, Khayaban-e-Akbar Housing Scheme, two poultry protein sheds owned by Chaudhary Dilawar on Digri Road and municipal waste dumping sites located on Jhudo Road and Digri Bypass Road.
Lack of adequate environmental control measures and non-compliance with provisions of the Sindh Environmental Protection Act, 2014, particularly regarding emissions control, waste handling, operational practices, and environmental safeguards observed by the team during inspection.
The management of the concerned industrial units are directed to immediately take corrective steps to reduce environmental impacts caused by their operations. Moreover, team warned that failure to comply could result in legal action under the Sindh Environmental Protection Act, 2014.
At the municipal waste dumping sites, the team noted improper dumping practices and poor waste management conditions. Concerned municipal authorities are instructed to take immediate remedial measures, prevent open dumping and burning of waste and develop environmentally sound waste disposal mechanisms in accordance with environmental regulations.
The inspection drive is conducted under the guidance of Regional Incharge Mirpurkhas Ali Muhammad Rind. The inspection team included District Incharge Mirpurkhas Abdul Aziz Maher, Chemist Aneel Kumar and Field Supervisor Intizar Hussain.
