RCK New Central organized a session on “Climate Change: A Growing Threat to Human Health” at KMC Midwifery School, Gizri, on 27th August. The session was facilitated by Dr. Arjumand Rabbani and was attended by 25 students and one faculty member.
Dr. Rabbani explained how Pakistan is experiencing rapid climate change, driven largely by increasing greenhouse gas emissions resulting from human activities. This has significant impact on human health, including heatwaves, water-borne diseases, food insecurity, maternal and child malnutrition, and mental health problems. She briefed how to protect public health by tree plantation, environmental conservation, responsible use of natural resources and waste reduction. Participants promised to take practical steps toward creating a healthier environment.
