Postgraduate College Kohat was established as an Intermediate College in 1953 and now running BS 4-Year programs in 12 Disciplines to impart quality education and to develop various facets of students’ personality. on education, discipline, character-building and patriotism. Since then, it has tried its level best to ensure the intellectual advancement, develop the leadership qualities, moral up-gradation and physical fitness of its students. taught by six lecturers in a rented building in the city. In the year 1954, regular teaching started in the newly-constructed magnificent building on the Pindi Road Kohat. In 1955, the first batch of F.Sc students was admitted to the College. In the same year, degree classes were also initiated. Since then, this institution has been progressing by leaps and bounds. In 1988 the college was once again upgraded to postgraduate level as master classes in the subjects of Chemistry and Economics were launched. In the year 2000 students were admitted to M.A. English in order to quench the thirst for knowledge of the people of the area. The college spreads over an area of 109 Kanals, having a state-of-the-art and spacious building, well equipped laboratories, digital library, a magnificent mosque, spacious play grounds; lush green lawns wherein stands face ward a white-faceted vision board boasting of the highly coveted targets; cherished by a team of highly inspired faculty of this college. Education lies at the heart of almost all the challenges that the country confronts that is why it is to be treated as a strategic imperative and not just a desirable social goal. It is the key that will unlock almost every problem.Thus our college has excelled in producing a high-profile intelligentsia in different fields such as defense, civil services, politics, engineering, medicine and education etc. The college is one of the selected colleges of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa offering international level undergraduate degree programme ― BS 4-Year― in twelve disciplines since 2010. Postgraduate College Kohat takes pride in matching the national idealism by adopting a highly acquisitive role of grooming students at Inter Level who won ICT scholarship and also got the prestigious scholarship of the ‘STORI DA PAKHTUNKHWA PROGRAMME’, twenty students of our BS Programme have been awarded laptops under the ‘The NAWAY SAHAR PROGRAMME’.

The Science, IT & Arts Exhibition 2026 held on April 9, 2026, at JMC Kohat was a remarkable celebration of innovation, creativity, and talent. The event was inaugurated by the Chief Guest, Professor Dr. Fazl-e-Hadi (Regional Director Higher Education South, Bannu), accompanied by Chief Organizer Professor Javed Iqbal and Exhibition Focal Person Dr. Jehanzeb Khan**.

The exhibition witnessed enthusiastic participation from Girls and Degree Colleges of JMC Kohat, where students showcased their exceptional skills through innovative models, creative posters, and artistic works. The exhibits captured the attention of students, participants, and distinguished guests from various colleges, who highly appreciated the originality and effort behind each project.

A panel of judges thoroughly inspected and evaluated the projects to recognize outstanding performances. The winning projects were honored with Certificates of Appreciation for their excellence and creativity.

At the conclusion of this successful event, Professor Javed Iqbal (JMC Coordinator Kohat) presented a shield to the Chief Guest as a token of gratitude. In return, the Chief Guest awarded shields to the JMC Coordinator, Exhibition Focal Person, and event organizers in recognition of their dedicated efforts.

In his closing remarks, the Chief Guest declared the event a great success and emphasized the importance of promoting innovation and skill development among students, encouraging future projects that reflect creativity and practical impact.

The Science, IT & Arts Exhibition held on 𝗔𝗽𝗿𝗶𝗹 𝟲, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 at Government Postgraduate College Kohat was successfully inaugurated by the Chief Organizer, Professor Javed Iqbal (Principal GPGC Kohat), along with Dr. Jehanzeb Khan, Focal Person for the exhibition.

Both dignitaries thoroughly inspected the innovative models and creative posters presented by the students, appreciating their hard work, creativity, and scientific approach. The event was further enriched by the presence of judges who carefully evaluated the projects and posters on various criteria.

In recognition of excellence, certificates were awarded to the 𝐭𝐨𝐩 𝟓 𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐣𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐬, encouraging students to continue their pursuit of knowledge and innovation.

𝐕𝐢𝐬𝐢𝐭 & 𝐈𝐧𝐚𝐮𝐠𝐮𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐚𝐭 𝐆𝐏𝐆𝐂 𝐊𝐨𝐡𝐚𝐭

Former Interior Minister and MNA Shehryar Khan Afridi and Special Assistant to the Chief Minister KP for Information Shafi Jan visited Government Postgraduate College Kohat on March 30, 2026, where Shafi Jan formally inaugurated the newly constructed building of the Department of Urdu / additional classrooms.

The project, completed at a cost of Rs. 35.927 million, aims to provide improved educational facilities and meet the growing academic needs of students.

Principal Prof. Javed Iqbal thanked the chief guest for completing this long-awaited project and highlighted key issues including solarization of the college and hostels, as well as the conversion of the dusty ground into a grassy field, and the pressing need for a college auditorium to host academic and cultural events.

In his remarks, Shafi Jan assured that these issues would be addressed soon, adding that the government is committed to improving educational infrastructure and providing a better learning environment for students.

خیبرپختونخوا میں جامعات اور ڈگری ایوارڈنگ اداروں کے اوقات کار میں عارضی تبدیلی کا اعلان کر دیا گیا
صوبے بھر کی تمام سرکاری و نجی جامعات جمعہ اور ہفتہ کو بند رہیں گی
ڈگری ایوارڈنگ ادارے اور کالجز بھی جمعہ اور ہفتہ کو بند رکھنے کا نوٹیفکیشن جاری کر دیا گیا
باقی ایام میں جامعات کو ہائبرڈ یا آن لائن تدریسی نظام اپنانے کی ہدایت کر دی گئی
ایندھن کی فراہمی اور قیمتوں کی صورتحال کے باعث متبادل تدریسی طریقہ کار اپنانے کی تجویز پر عملدرامد شروع ہوگیا
