The Investment Climate Reform Unit (ICRU) Planning & Development Board, Govt. of the Punjab, in collaboration with Financing Sustainable Development (FSD), Support to Local Governance Programme (LoGo), Deutsche Gesellschaft Fur Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) called a consultative session for the “Establishment of a Web Portal for Ease of Doing Business and Private Sector Engagement in the Punjab for Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in the Punjab” at the P&D Board, Punjab office.

The consultative session was part of ICRU’s initiative of reaching out to stakeholders from the Public and Private Sectors to identify specific operational concerns for the envisaged mechanism of designing one easy-to-use portal that would let businesses in the Punjab optimize and grow.

Year in Review - A look back at 2018

The Social Impact Investment Vehicle (SIIV) is the first of its kind Social Impact Investment Fund, designed to provide access to finance for early stage SMEs, youth and women start ups.

Structured with the collaboration of the private sector the SIIV will address issues related to “Arrangement of Finance to start a business” which is a key factor contributing to the Ease of Doing Business.

Year in Review- a look back at 2018

The Investment Climate Reform Unit, Planning & Development Department, Govt. of the Punjab, launched The Punjab Investor Handbook 2018 to assist potential investors looking to establish themselves in the Punjab and existing investors to diversify and expand. The handbook is also being translated into the Mandarin & Turkish languages for the convenience of overseas investors. It covers key industrial sectors, important contacts & registration processes to establish operations in the Punjab.

Year in Review- a look back at 2018

The Investment Climate Reform Unit, Planning & Development Department, Govt. of the Punjab successfully conducted the Third and Fourth Sessions of the PPD Council as a means of identifying areas for immediate reform in 2018. As a consequence of the PPD Mechanism, ICRU has established Working Groups on Intellectual Property Rights and Small & Medium Enterprises/Exporters along with a Task force on Taxation Reform.

The PPD council is a paradigm shift where luminaries from the business community and the public sector put their heads together to come up with a strategy to address issues pertaining to the Ease of Doing Business in the Punjab.

Year in Review- a look back at 2018.

2018 is not over yet, but it’s been an exciting year so far. While the Investment Climate Reform Unit, Planning & Development Department, Govt. of the Punjab has grown and evolved tremendously, what’s been the most exciting is seeing what we have achieved in these last 12 months. We’ve enjoyed working with people from more industries, both from the Public and Private sector, than ever before.

Keep checking out this space while we take a look back at all of the progress we’ve made this past year.

Speaking at the Future Investment Initiative Conference (FIIC) in Riyadh, Saudia Arabia, Prime Minister Imran Khan,reiterated his commitment to improve the Investment Climate in the country in order to attract foreign investment.
The Investment Climate Reform Unit & Development Department, Govt. of the Punjab, is spearheading initiatives focused to institutionalize Private Sector engagement in all reform efforts of the Government pertaining to policies, legislation and regulations which will facilitate businesses.
