An increase in the number of people visiting theme parks like Disney might indicate the economic recovery of the US economy. Spending on theme park visits and entrainment is more likely to be characterised as a non-necessity consumer good, or in fact even a luxury good. Thus with basic microeconomics principles, the spending on such visits will tend to go down when disposable income of consumers decreases while the spending will increase when disposable incomes of consumers go up, by the simple Engels curve idea.
