پنجاب اسمبلی میں قائمہ کمیٹی برائے ڈیزاسٹر مینجمنٹ کا اجلاس چیئرپرسن محترمہ قدسیہ بتول، ایم پی اے کی زیر صدارت منعقد ہوا۔ اجلاس میں پنجاب میں موجودہ موسمی و قدرتی خطرات، مون سون 2026 کی صورتحال اور ممکنہ چیلنجز کا جائزہ لیا گیا۔ کمیٹی نے دریائے چناب، جہلم، راوی اور ڈی جی خان کے پہاڑی نالوں میں ممکنہ سیلاب، زلزلوں، اسموگ اور دیگر قدرتی آفات سے نمٹنے کے لیے تیاریوں اور حفاظتی اقدامات پر غور کیا۔ اجلاس میں صوبائی محکموں، ضلعی انتظامیہ اور ہنگامی امدادی اداروں کے درمیان مؤثر رابطہ کاری اور ابتدائی وارننگ سسٹم کو مزید مضبوط بنانے کے اقدامات پر بھی تبادلۂ خیال کیا گیا۔

The Standing Committee on Disaster Management met today at the Punjab Assembly under the chairpersonship of Ms. Qudsia Batool, MPA. The Committee reviewed Punjab's current hazard landscape, including weather updates and the Monsoon 2026 outlook. Members discussed preparedness and mitigation measures for floods, earthquakes, smog, and other natural hazards, with particular focus on vulnerable areas along the Chenab, Jhelum, Ravi rivers and DG Khan hill torrents. The Committee also reviewed interdepartmental coordination mechanisms and the strengthening of early warning systems to enhance disaster preparedness and response across the province.

پنجاب اسمبلی میں پبلک اکاؤنٹس کمیٹی-I کا اجلاس چیئرمین چوہدری افتخار حسین چھچھر، ایم پی اے کی زیر صدارت منعقد ہوا۔ اجلاس میں محکمہ صنعت، تجارت، سرمایہ کاری و ہنر مندی کے فروغ، اس کے ماتحت محکموں اور خودمختار اداروں سے متعلق امور کا جائزہ لیا گیا۔ اسپیشل سیکرٹری کی عدم موجودگی کے باعث کارروائی مقررہ شیڈول کے مطابق جاری نہ رہ سکی۔ چیئرمین نے وضاحت طلب کرنے کے لیے نوٹس جاری کرنے کی ہدایت کرتے ہوئے آئندہ کمیٹی کو بروقت آگاہ رکھنے پر زور دیا تاکہ کارروائی مؤثر اور بلا تعطل جاری رہ سکے۔

The Public Accounts Committee-I met today at the Punjab Assembly under the chairmanship of Chaudhary Iftikhar Hussain Chhachhar, MPA. The Committee reviewed matters related to the Industries, Commerce, Investment & Skills Development Department and its attached departments. Due to the absence of the Special Secretary, proceedings could not continue as scheduled. The Chairman directed that a notice be issued seeking an explanation and stressed the importance of timely communication with the Committee to ensure the smooth conduct of its proceedings.

قائم مقام گورنر پنجاب ملک محمد احمد خان سے گورنر ہاؤس لاہور میں پاکستان میں آذربائیجان کے سبکدوش ہونے والے سفیر خضر فرہادوف نے الوداعی ملاقات کی۔
ملاقات میں پاک آذربائیجان تعلقات، تجارت، سرمایہ کاری، توانائی، تعلیم اور سیاحت سمیت مختلف شعبوں میں تعاون کے فروغ پر تبادلۂ خیال کیا گیا۔ قائم مقام گورنر پنجاب نے دونوں برادر ممالک کے درمیان باہمی اعتماد، دوستی اور مشترکہ اقدار پر مبنی تعلقات کو مزید مضبوط بنانے کے عزم کا اظہار کیا اور سفیر خضر فرہادوف کی سفارتی خدمات کو سراہتے ہوئے ان کے لیے نیک تمناؤں کا اظہار کیا۔
اس موقع پر سیکرٹری جنرل چودھری عامر حبیب، ایڈوائزر برائے سپیکر اسامہ خاور، پرنسپل سیکرٹری عماد حسین بھلی، ملک تیمور اور ملک علی بھی موجود تھے۔

Acting Governor of Punjab Malik Muhammad Ahmad Khan met with the outgoing Ambassador of Azerbaijan to Pakistan, Khazar Farhadov, at the Governor House, Lahore.
The meeting focused on strengthening Pakistan–Azerbaijan relations, expanding cooperation in trade, investment, energy, education, and tourism, and reaffirming the shared commitment to deeper bilateral ties built on mutual trust, friendship, and shared values. The Acting Governor also appreciated Ambassador Farhadov's diplomatic services and wished him success in his future endeavors.
The meeting was attended by Secretary General Punjab Assembly, Chaudhry Amer Habib, Advisor to the Speaker Usama Khawar, Principal Secretary to Speaker Imad Hussain Bhalli, Malik Taimur, and Malik Ali.

پنجاب اسمبلی میں پبلک اکاؤنٹس کمیٹی-I کا اجلاس آج چیئرمین چوہدری افتخار حسین چھچھر، ایم پی اے کی زیرِ صدارت منعقد ہوا۔ اجلاس میں انڈسٹریز اینڈ کامرس ڈیپارٹمنٹ اور اس کے خودمختار اداروں سے متعلق مالی سال 2022-23 کے کمرشل آڈٹ پیراز کا جائزہ لیا گیا۔
کمیٹی نے مالی بے ضابطگیوں، سرکاری واجبات کی عدم وصولی، ترقیاتی منصوبوں میں تاخیر، فنڈز کے غیر مجاز استعمال، بے ضابطہ تقرریوں اور مالی نظم و نسق سے متعلق مختلف آڈٹ اعتراضات کا جائزہ لیا۔ متعدد آڈٹ پیراز نمٹا دیے گئے، جبکہ بعض معاملات مزید تحقیقات اور ریکارڈ کی تصدیق کے لیے مؤخر کر دیے گئے۔
چیئرمین چوہدری افتخار حسین چھچھر نے سیکرٹری کی جانب سے کمیٹی کو غلط بریفنگ دیے جانے پر سخت تشویش کا اظہار کرتے ہوئے تحریری وضاحت طلب کرنے کے لیے نوٹس جاری کرنے کی ہدایت کی۔ انہوں نے شفافیت، مالیاتی نظم و ضبط، سرکاری رقوم کی بروقت وصولی اور آڈٹ سفارشات پر مؤثر عملدرآمد کی ضرورت پر زور دیا۔

The Public Accounts Committee-I met today at the Punjab Assembly under the chairmanship of Chaudhary Iftikhar Hussain Chhachhar, MPA. The Committee reviewed Commercial Audit Paras for the financial year 2022–23 relating to the Industries and Commerce Department and its autonomous bodies.
Members examined audit observations concerning financial irregularities, delays in development projects, non-recovery of government dues, irregular appointments, unauthorized use of funds, and weaknesses in financial management. Several audit paras were settled, while others were deferred for further inquiry and record verification.
Chairman Chaudhary Iftikhar Hussain Chhachhar expressed serious concern over the Committee being misbriefed by the Secretary and directed that a notice be issued seeking written compliance. He emphasized transparency, financial discipline, timely recovery of public funds, and effective implementation of audit recommendations to strengthen accountability.

یومِ استحصالِ کشمیر | 5 اگست

یومِ استحصالِ کشمیر کے موقع پر قائم مقام گورنر پنجاب ملک محمد احمد خاں نے کہا کہ مسئلۂ کشمیر کا پائیدار اور منصفانہ حل اقوامِ متحدہ کی قراردادوں اور کشمیری عوام کی امنگوں کے مطابق ہی ممکن ہے۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ کشمیری عوام کے بنیادی حقوق، عزت، امن اور انصاف کے لیے پاکستان کی سیاسی، سفارتی اور اخلاقی حمایت ہمیشہ جاری رہے گی۔

آج کا دن کشمیری عوام کی استقامت، قربانیوں اور حقِ خود ارادیت کے لیے ان کی جدوجہد سے اظہارِ یکجہتی کا دن ہے۔

Youm-e-Istehsal-e-Kashmir | 5 August

On Youm-e-Istehsal-e-Kashmir Day, Acting Governor of Punjab Malik Muhammad Ahmad Khan stated that a just and lasting resolution of the Kashmir dispute can only be achieved in accordance with the relevant UN resolutions and the aspirations of the Kashmiri people. He reaffirmed Pakistan's continued political, diplomatic, and moral support for the rights, dignity, peace, and justice of the people of Jammu and Kashmir.

The day serves as a reminder of the resilience and sacrifices of the Kashmiri people and expresses solidarity with their pursuit of their fundamental rights and a peaceful resolution to the longstanding dispute.

اختیارات کی نچلی سطح تک منتقلی، مضبوط بلدیاتی نظام اور عوامی نمائندوں کو بااختیار بنانا مؤثر گورننس اور پائیدار جمہوریت کے لیے ناگزیر ہے۔

قائم مقام گورنر پنجاب، ملک محمد احمد خاں نے یونیورسٹی آف لاہور کے زیر اہتمام "گورننس: لیکن نظام کیا؟" کے موضوع پر منعقدہ راؤنڈ ٹیبل کانفرنس سے بطور مہمانِ خصوصی و کلیدی مقرر خطاب کرتے ہوئے کہا کہ آئین کی روح کے مطابق اختیارات کی حقیقی منتقلی، ریاستی اداروں کے درمیان آئینی توازن، قانون کی حکمرانی، شفاف احتساب اور عوامی حقوق کا تحفظ پاکستان میں بہتر طرزِ حکمرانی کی بنیاد ہیں۔

انہوں نے اس بات پر زور دیا کہ سیاسی مکالمے، برداشت اور قومی اتفاقِ رائے کے ذریعے ہی عوام کو بہتر معیارِ زندگی اور بنیادی سہولیات کی فراہمی یقینی بنائی جا سکتی ہے۔

Effective governance and a stronger democracy require genuine devolution of powers, an empowered local government system, and greater authority for elected public representatives.

Acting Governor of Punjab, Malik Muhammad Ahmad Khan, addressed the University of Lahore's roundtable conference on "Governance: But What System?" as the chief guest and keynote speaker. He emphasised that governance must be strengthened through constitutional devolution of authority, institutional balance, the rule of law, transparent accountability, and the protection of citizens' rights.

He further stressed that constructive political dialogue, tolerance, and national consensus are essential to improving governance and ensuring better public services and quality of life for the people.

چیف وِپ پنجاب اسمبلی رانا محمد ارشد نے یومِ استحصالِ کشمیر کے موقع پر ایک قرارداد جمع کروائی، جس میں مقبوضہ جموں و کشمیر کے عوام کے ساتھ بھرپور یکجہتی کا اظہار کیا گیا۔ قرارداد میں 5 اگست 2019 کے بھارتی یکطرفہ اقدامات کی شدید مذمت کرتے ہوئے عالمی برادری سے اقوامِ متحدہ کی قراردادوں اور بین الاقوامی قانون پر مؤثر عملدرآمد کا مطالبہ کیا گیا۔

Chief Whip Punjab Assembly Rana Muhammad Arshad has submitted a resolution on Youm-e-Istehsal-e-Kashmir, reaffirming unwavering solidarity with the people of Jammu & Kashmir. The resolution strongly condemns India's unilateral actions of 5 August 2019 and calls upon the international community to uphold its commitments under international law and UN resolutions.

پنجاب اسمبلی میں آج پبلک اکاؤنٹس کمیٹی-I کا اجلاس چیئرمین چوہدری افتخار حسین چھچھر، رکنِ صوبائی اسمبلی، کی زیرِ صدارت منعقد ہوا، جس میں مالی سال 2022-23 کے محکمہ ہائر ایجوکیشن اور اس کے ماتحت اداروں سے متعلق آڈٹ پیراز (سول) کا جائزہ لیا گیا۔
کمیٹی نے بے ضابطہ تقرریوں، مالی اور خریداری میں بے قاعدگیوں، ترقیاتی منصوبوں میں تاخیر، واجبات کی عدم وصولی اور انتظامی امور سے متعلق آڈٹ اعتراضات پر غور کیا۔ چیئرمین نے اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاولپور میں بے ضابطہ تقرریوں کی 30 روز میں انکوائری مکمل کرنے کی ہدایت کی، جبکہ یونیورسٹی آف جھنگ میں مالی اور خریداری سے متعلق بے ضابطگیوں کی تحقیقات کا حکم دیتے ہوئے 30 روز میں رپورٹ طلب کی۔
محکمہ ہائر ایجوکیشن پنجاب لاہور اور جنوبی پنجاب، ملتان سے متعلق آڈٹ پیراز کو وصولیوں، تصدیق، مفاہمت اور کمیٹی کی ہدایات کے مطابق دیگر کارروائی کے ذریعے نمٹا دیا گیا۔

The Public Accounts Committee-I met today at the Punjab Assembly under the chairmanship of Chaudhary Iftikhar Hussain Chhachhar, MPA, to review Audit Paras (Civil) for the financial year 2022–23 relating to the Higher Education Department and its institutions.
The Committee examined audit observations regarding irregular appointments, financial and procurement irregularities, delayed development works, non-recovery of dues, and governance issues. The Chairman directed the Higher Education Department to complete an inquiry into irregular appointments at the Islamia University of Bahawalpur within 30 days, while inquiries into financial and procurement irregularities at the University of Jhang were also ordered with reports to be submitted within the same period.
Audit Paras relating to the Higher Education Department Punjab, Lahore, and South Punjab, Multan were settled through recoveries, verification, reconciliation, and other actions in accordance with the Committee's directions.
