Today, I randomly clicked a picture from my phone. In this image, you can see a child with his father. I met them and asked the child, 'Why aren't you in school?' The father sadly replied, 'Our home is 5 kilometers away. We have no access to clean water. The groundwater in our land is contaminated, making it undrinkable and even unsuitable for washing our faces.'
This encounter left me deeply saddened. I identified two major issues:
1. People in the desert region suffer from kidney problems due to consuming contaminated water.
2. Children are forced to miss school as they spend hours daily searching for water.
Climate change is exacerbating this crisis. Rising temperatures and decreased rainfall are worsening the clean water shortage, leaving communities without this basic necessity.
