Chughtai Public Library participated in the Pakistan Learning Festival (PLF) 2026. On this occasion, Chughtai Public Library presented its Library on Wheels, reflecting the institution’s continued commitment to promoting accessible knowledge and community-based learning initiatives.
The Library also organized a series of literary and educational activities, including storytelling sessions, reading engagement exercises, and awareness talks emphasizing the importance of books, reading habits and lifelong learning.

Chughtai Public Library had the honour of collaborating with the Nawaz Sharif Center of Excellence for Early Childhood Education to commemorate World Book and Copyright Day through a well-organized and engaging event for young learners.

The program featured a variety of educational and interactive activities, including storytelling sessions, reading engagement exercises and the presentation of the Library on Wheels. The students participated with remarkable enthusiasm, reflecting a keen interest in learning and reading.

We are pleased to share glimpses from this memorable occasion, which reaffirmed the importance of cultivating reading habits, creativity, and respect for intellectual property among children.

Chughtai Public Library is proud to announce the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Zulfiqar Shah Gardezi Library, Multan, on April 24, 2026. The agreement was signed by the Founder of Chughtai Public Libraries, Prof. Dr. A. Chughtai, and Ambassador (R) Syed Zulfiqar Gardezi.

This collaboration marks a significant step toward preserving and promoting valuable knowledge resources. Under this partnership, Chughtai Public Library will support the digitization of archival resources available at Gardezi Library and work to make these rare and valuable materials freely accessible to readers, researchers and scholars across the world.

Together, this initiative will help protect cultural heritage, expand global access to knowledge, and strengthen the culture of learning for future generations.

Chughtai Public Library marked World Book & Copyright Day on 24 April 2026 with a distinguished gathering of scholars, educationists and intellectuals, reaffirming the importance of books, reading culture, and knowledge preservation in the digital age. The ceremony began with a warm welcome.

The event was presided over by the Chief Guest Mr. Farhan Aziz Khawaja (Director General, Civil Services Academy and Rector National School of Public Policy) and joined by the esteemed Chairman Chughtai Founder Dr. A. Chughtai , Mrs. Dr. Rukhsana Chughtai, Prof. Dr. Muzzafar Iqbal (Director, Idara Saqafat-e-Islamia), Madam Baela Raza (Director ITA), Prof. Shafiq ur Rehman (Director, Institute of Information Management Punjab University), Prof. Dr. Waheed uz Zaman Tariq (Iqbal Scholar), Babar Aman Babar (Member, Board of Revenue), Ambassador (R) Syed Zulfiqar Gardezi, Mr. Sufian (Director, Children Library Complex), Sheikh Parvaiz (Allah Waley Trust), Abdul Raheem (Chief Librarian Quaid-e-Azam Library) and Zameer Afaaqi (Journalist) whose presence reflected a shared commitment to literacy and cultural preservation.

The event concluded with remarks by Dr. A. S. Chughtai, Founder of Chughtai Public Library, reiterating the library’s mission to promote knowledge and preserve literary heritage.

Visit of Dr. Waheed uz Zaman Tariq and His Team to CPL

Dr. Waheed uz Zaman Tariq paid a visit, accompanied by postgraduate trainee doctors Dr. Sidra Chaudhry, Dr. Hina Tanveer, and Dr. Shehryar Khattak.

On this occasion, a meaningful and scholarly session was held with the team members of the library, where various aspects of knowledge and literature were discussed and an exchange of ideas took place.

During the visit, Dr. Waheed uz Zaman Tariq generously presented three of his significant books to the library as a gift:

Iqbal aur Tauheed
Kharabat-e-Farang (Volume I)
Kharabat-e-Farang (Volume II)

These books have been formally added to the library’s collection so that readers may benefit from this valuable intellectual contribution.
