Request for Emergency Relief Response Project Heavy Rains and Flash Floods 2022 Pakistan.
Massive floods have killed a total of 238 people across Pakistan and left thousands homeless due to heavy monsoon rains.
Recently Pakistan is facing a big disaster and the majority of People are affected by heavy rains and floods. The monsoon season continues to affect several provinces of Pakistan, causing floods, landslides, and severe weather-related incidents, with humanitarian impact. According to the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), as of 18 July, up to 238 fatalities have been reported across seven provinces, most of them in Baluchistan (75 fatalities), Punjab (55), and Sindh (48), and 187 individuals have been injured. Almost 3,400 houses have been damaged, as well as 22 bridges and 11,5 km of roads. According to initial assessments at least 150,000 people require humanitarian assistance, 30,000 people have been severely affected in Baluchistan, and 400 families have been displaced as per initial field reports. Disaster Management Authorities at national and provincial levels are conducting rescue and relief activities. Besides, humanitarian actors including International Rescue Committee, Charites, Islamic Relief are providing food and non-food items in the affected districts in Baluchistan, Sindh and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa provinces.
The monsoon season continues to affect several provinces of Pakistan, causing floods, flash floods and severe weather-related events, and resulting in an increased humanitarian impact.
