President of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) and the Ambassador of Japan to Pakistan, visited the Punjab Women Protection Authority on 3 August 2026 under the Project 'Protection, Empowerment, and Socioeconomic Reintegration of Gender-Based Violence (GBV) Survivors.'
During the visit, Dr. Tanaka met with frontline officers and learned about the comprehensive support provided to survivors of gender-based violence. The delegation was briefed on the Authority's integrated service delivery model, including psychosocial counselling, legal assistance, family mediation, protection services, and livelihood support.
The visit highlighted the shared commitment of JICA, the Government of Japan, and the Government of Punjab to strengthening survivor-centred services that empower women to rebuild their lives with dignity, safety, and independence.
