🌍✨ From Disease-Specific Programs to Integrated Primary Healthcare: Our Journey to
🎉 I am delighted to share that our scientific abstract, "Impact of Integrated Multi-Disease Screening at the Primary Care Level," has been accepted for presentation at The Union World Conference on Lung Health 2026!
💡 This work highlights how integrated primary healthcare can transform disease detection — moving beyond vertical health programs toward a patient-centered model, where communities can be screened for multiple priority diseases through a single point of care.
📍 Our experience from Punjab, Pakistan demonstrates that strengthening Rural Health Centres (RHCs) through integrated screening services has the potential to:
✅ Improve early case detection
✅ Enhance health system efficiency
✅ Increase access to quality primary healthcare
✅ Strengthen Universal Health Coverage (UHC)
✅ Optimize the use of limited healthcare resources
🌐 As countries work towards the WHO End TB Strategy and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), integrated service delivery is becoming increasingly vital for building resilient health systems.
