Vice Chairperson PSPA, Jahan Ara Manzoor Wattoo, addressed the forum as a panellist at the Knowledge Exchange Conference on the theme, " Supporting Women’s Careers through Safe Workplace and Childcare " organized by School Education Department, Government of the Punjab. The panel also included representatives from Child Protection & Welfare Bureau Punjab, and Women Development Department. The conference brought together policymakers, government officials, development partners, education experts, private sector representatives, and civil society to discuss policy recommendations for promoting safe workplaces, quality childcare, and stronger social protection for women.

Speaking during the panel discussion, Vice Chairperson PSPA emphasized that women's long-term participation in the workforce requires safe workplaces, affordable childcare, maternity protection, flexible working arrangements, protection against workplace harassment, and opportunities to return to work after career breaks.

She highlighted PSPA's commitment to women's empowerment through its social protection initiatives, including the Zewar-e-Taleem Program for girls' education, Aaghosh Program for maternal and child health, and Khud Mukhtar Program for women's economic empowerment through skills, employment, and entrepreneurship.

Vice Chairperson Jahan Ara Manzoor Wattoo further stressed the importance of integrating health, education, skills development, employment, and social protection, noting that the PSER can help ensure deserving women have seamless access to essential services and economic opportunities.

Concluding her remarks, Vice Chairperson called for stronger social protection policies and greater collaboration between the government, private sector, and society to create a safer and more inclusive future for women.

وائس چیپرسن پی ایس پی اے کا عوام سے براہِ راست رابطہ، عوامی مسائل کا فوری حل ہماری اولین ترجیح، سماجی تحفظ کی خدمات کی فراہمی میں کسی قسم کی کوتاہی برداشت نہیں کی جائے گی: وائس چیئرپرسن پی ایس پی اے

وائس چیئرپرسن پی ایس پی اے جہاں آراء منظور وٹو نے پنجاب انفارمیشن ٹیکنالوجی بورڈ(پی آئی ٹی بی) کے سٹیزن کانٹیکٹ سینٹر کا خصوصی دورہ کیا، جہاں ان کا ڈائریکٹر ای گورننس، علی زیب نے پرتپاک استقبال کیا گیا۔ اس موقع پر پی ایس پی اے کے افسران بھی موجود تھے۔
دورے کے دوران وائس چیئرپرسن نے پنجاب سوشیو اکنامک رجسٹری (پی ایس ای آر) سے متعلق سٹیزن کانٹیکٹ سینٹر میں موصول ہونے والی کالز کا خود جائزہ لیا اور شہریوں کی شکایات و مسائل براہِ راست سنے۔ انہوں نے متعلقہ حکام کو ہدایت کی کہ عوامی شکایات کو ترجیحی بنیادوں پر حل کیا جائے اور خدمات کی فراہمی کے نظام کو مزید مؤثر، شفاف اور عوام دوست بنایا جائے۔ اس موقع پر وائس چیئرپرسن نے کہا کہ عوام کی آواز سننا اور ان کے مسائل کا بروقت ازالہ یقینی بنانا پنجاب حکومت اور پی ایس پی اے کی اولین ترجیح ہے۔ جدید ٹیکنالوجی کا اصل مقصد شہریوں کو آسان، بروقت اور معیاری خدمات کی فراہمی ہے، لہٰذا ہر شکایت پر فوری اور مؤثر کارروائی کو یقینی بنایا جانا چاہیے۔

مزید برآں، اپنے دورے میں وائس چیئرپرسن نے مریم کی باتیں پورٹل، سٹیزن کانٹیکٹ سینٹر کے آپریشنز، عوامی شکایات کے اندراج اور ازالے کے نظام، آرٹیفیشل انٹیلیجنس کے استعمال اور مستقبل میں متعارف کرائے جانے والے ڈیجیٹل منصوبوں اورحکومت پنجاب کے مختلف پروگراموں کا بھی جا ئرہ لیا۔

وائس چیئرپرسن نے مزید کہا اور ہدایات بھی جاری کی کہ پی ایس پی اے اپنے نئے ای آر پی سسٹم میں واٹس ایپ چیٹ بوٹ کے انضمام کے لیے پی آئی ٹی بی سے تکنیکی معاونت حاصل کرے، جبکہ سوشل پروٹیکشن ہیلپ لائن 1221 کو بھی پی آئی ٹی بی کے تعاون سے فعال بنایا جائے تاکہ شہریوں کو معلومات، رہنمائی اور شکایات کے بروقت ازالے کی بہتر سہولیات فراہم کی جا سکیںا۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ جدید ڈیجیٹل ٹیکنالوجی، مصنوعی ذہانت اور باہمی تعاون کے ذریعے عوام کو مزید مؤثر، شفاف اور معیاری سماجی تحفظ کی خدمات فراہم کی جائیں گی۔

پنجاب سوشیو اکنامک رجسٹری (پی ایس ای آر) کی ٹیم نے معروف صحافی حسن نثار صاحب کے گھر کا سروے مکمل کیا۔ اس موقع پر حسن نثار صاحب نے حکومتِ پنجاب کے پی ایس ای آر گھر گھر سروے کو شفاف، مؤثر اور مستحق خاندانوں تک فلاحی سہولیات کی منصفانہ فراہمی کے لیے ایک قابلِ تحسین اقدام قرار دیا۔ اب تک گھر گھر سروے کے ذریعے پنجاب کی91.8 فیصد آبادی کا مستند سماجی و معاشی ڈیٹا جمع کیا جا چکا ہے تاکہ حکومتی فلاحی منصوبوں کے فوائد بروقت، شفاف اور مؤثر انداز میں حقیقی مستحقین تک پہنچائے جا سکیں۔

Vice Chairperson, PSPA and Inaugural Chairperson, Women Leaders in Social Protection Network, Jahan Ara Manzoor Wattoo, represented Pakistan at prestigious United Nations Fellowship on Leadership for Social Protection, organized by International Training Centre of the International Labour Organization (ITCILO) in Turin, Italy.

The international fellowship brought together senior social protection leaders from across the world to strengthen leadership capacities and promote knowledge exchange on inclusive and resilient social protection systems. The program covered purpose-driven leadership, governance, change management, negotiation, advocacy, and media engagement, equipping participants with practical tools to lead transformational reforms in the social protection sector.

During the fellowship, Jahan Ara Manzoor Wattoo showcased Pakistan and especially Punjab's progress in advancing technology-driven and citizen-centric social protection through innovative governance and digital service delivery. On the sidelines of the program, she held productive discussions with senior representatives of International Labour Organization (ILO) and ITCILO regarding future collaboration to strengthen women's leadership in social protection.Both sides agreed in principle that ITCILO experts would deliver a four-week training program for women professionals from Pakistan through the ITCILO E-Campus, followed by a one-week in-person training programme at ITCILO in Turin, Italy. The initiative aims to equip Pakistani women professionals with world-class leadership skills, international expertise, and exposure to global best practices, enabling them to play a more effective role in advancing social protection.

Speaking on the occasion, Jahan Ara Manzoor Wattoo said that as Vice Chairperson of PSPA and Inaugural Chairperson of the Women Leaders in Social Protection Network, I am honored to have been awarded this prestigious United Nations Fellowship by ITCILO. I am proud to represent Pakistan in Turin and engage with global leaders to learn from international best practices. I look forward to bringing these global solutions home to strengthen Pakistan's social protection system and contribute towards delivering the vision of the Pakistan Compact.

Vice Chairperson, Punjab Social Protection Authority, Jahan Ara Manzoor Wattoo, participated virtually as a keynote speaker at the Lead the Change for Social Protection Program – Third National Workshop organized by Giz and World Bank held at a private hotel in Murree, where she highlighted the importance of integrated, citizen-centric, and digitally enabled social protection systems. Vice Chairperson highlighted Punjab's significant progress in strengthening its social protection architecture through Punjab Socio-Economic Registry (PSER), which serves as the foundation for evidence-based planning, transparent beneficiary targeting, and coordinated service delivery across government programs.

Vice Chairperson also highlighted Pakistan's global leadership in social protection as the Inaugural Chair of Lead, Inspire and Shape (LIS) Network, sharing achievements in advancing women's leadership, peer learning, and international collaboration. She emphasized that resilient and inclusive social protection systems can only be achieved through strong partnerships, innovation, and collective action to improve the lives of vulnerable communities.
