On the directions of the Deputy Conservator of Forests, Layyah, Mr. Sajjad Haider Zaidi, the Forest Protection Officer, Inayat, Mr. Muhammad Amjad Nadeem, along with his field team, conducted a major enforcement operation against unauthorized commercial activities operating within the protected forest zone.
During the operation, 16 illegal sawmills (Ara Jats) were sealed, while 5 operational coal kilns (Koila Bhattian) were dismantled. The action was carried out against commercial establishments functioning within the designated 8-kilometre restricted zone of the forest reserve.
The unauthorized activities posed a serious threat to forest resources and contributed to environmental degradation in the protected area. The operation was therefore undertaken to prevent the illegal exploitation of timber and safeguard the ecological integrity of the forest reserve.
Strict legal proceedings under the relevant forest protection laws have been initiated against the violators. The Forest Department has reaffirmed its commitment to enforcing forestry laws and taking effective action against unauthorized activities that threaten forest resources and the natural environment.
