Progressive student leaders, legal experts, and young activists discussed the political, legal, and technical aspects of the proposed draft for Students Union.

Progressive students, teachers, and media representatives were invited to participate in the discussion on the restoration of student unions and democratic rights on campuses.

بہاؤالدین زکریا یونیورسٹی ملتان میں اسلامی جمعیت طلبہ کی مسلح غنڈہ گردی کے خلاف شدید مذمت

بہاؤالدین زکریا یونیورسٹی ملتان میں گزشتہ کئی روز سے اسلامی جمعیت طلبہ کی جانب سے جاری مسلح غنڈہ گردی، دہشت پھیلانے، طلبہ کو ہراساں کرنے اور سیاسی مخالفین پر حملوں کے واقعات نہایت تشویشناک اور قابلِ مذمت ہیں۔ تعلیمی اداروں میں اسلحے کے زور پر خوف و جبر کی فضا قائم کرنا نہ صرف طلبہ سیاست بلکہ پورے تعلیمی ماحول پر حملہ ہے۔

ماضی میں سرائیکی کونسل سے وابستہ طلبہ پر حملوں کے بعد اب پشتون اسٹوڈنٹ کونسل کے نوجوانوں کو تشدد اور فائرنگ کا نشانہ بنایا گیا ہے، جو اسلامی جمعیت طلبہ کی مسلسل فسطائی، رجعتی اور طلبہ دشمن سیاست کا تسلسل ہے۔ اطلاعات کے مطابق ڈی وی ایم ڈیپارٹمنٹ میں ایک طالبعلم کو بہیمانہ تشدد کا نشانہ بنایا گیا، جس کے نتیجے میں وہ شدید زخمی ہوا، جبکہ زخمی طالبعلم کو ہسپتال منتقل کرنے کے دوران یونیورسٹی گیٹ کھولنے میں رکاوٹیں ڈالنا انتظامیہ کی مجرمانہ غفلت، چشم پوشی اور ممکنہ ملی بھگت کو ظاہر کرتا ہے۔

مزید برآں جعفر کینٹین پر چیف سیکیورٹی آفیسر کی موجودگی میں جمعیت کے مسلح افراد کی جانب سے اسلحے کی کھلے عام نمائش اور بعد ازاں فائرنگ کا واقعہ اس حقیقت کو بے نقاب کرتا ہے کہ یونیورسٹی کیمپس کو منظم جتھہ بندی اور مسلح جبر کے ذریعے یرغمال بنانے کی کوشش کی جا رہی ہے۔ اس فائرنگ کے نتیجے میں متعدد طلبہ کے زخمی ہونے کی اطلاعات انتہائی افسوسناک ہیں۔

ریوولوشنری اسٹوڈنٹس فرنٹ سمجھتی ہے کہ تعلیمی ادارے جمہوری مباحث، تنقیدی شعور، سائنسی و فکری ترقی اور سیاسی آزادی کے مراکز ہونے چاہئیں، نہ کہ مذہبی انتہاپسندی، مسلح جبر اور غنڈہ گردی کے اڈے۔ اسلامی جمعیت طلبہ کی مسلح سیاست درحقیقت ضیائی آمریت اور مقتدرہ کی سرپرستی میں پروان چڑھنے والی اس رجعتی سیاست کا تسلسل ہے، جس نے دہائیوں سے جامعات کے علمی، جمہوری اور سیاسی ماحول کو تباہ کیا ہے۔ طلبہ سیاست کو بندوق، تشدد، دھونس اور دہشت کے ذریعے دبانے کی ہر کوشش کی شدید مذمت کرتے ہیں۔ جامعات میں کسی بھی مسلح تنظیم، جتھے یا دہشت پھیلانے والے عناصر کی کوئی گنجائش نہیں ہونی چاہیے۔

ہم مطالبہ کرتے ہیں کہ:

• واقعے کی فوری، شفاف اور غیرجانبدار تحقیقات کی جائیں۔
• فائرنگ اور تشدد میں ملوث تمام عناصر کو فوری گرفتار کر کے سخت قانونی کارروائی کی جائے۔
• اسلامی جمعیت طلبہ کی مسلح غنڈہ گردی اور دہشت پھیلانے کی سیاست کا فوری خاتمہ کیا جائے۔
• یونیورسٹی کیمپس کو ہر قسم کے اسلحے، جبر، مذہبی انتہاپسندی اور طلبہ دشمن عناصر سے پاک کیا جائے۔
• یونیورسٹی انتظامیہ اپنی ذمہ داری ادا کرتے ہوئے طلبہ کے جان و مال کے تحفظ کو یقینی بنائے اور ایسے عناصر کی سرپرستی یا چشم پوشی بند کرے۔
• طلبہ یونین کو فوری بحال کیا جائے تاکہ طلبہ کو جمہوری اور نمائندہ پلیٹ فارم میسر آ سکے۔

ریوولوشنری اسٹوڈنٹس فرنٹ تمام ترقی پسند، جمہوری اور طلبہ حقوق کی حامی قوتوں سے اپیل کرتی ہے کہ وہ تعلیمی اداروں کو مسلح جبر، مذہبی انتہاپسندی اور فسطائی سیاست سے پاک کرنے اور طلبہ یونین کی بحالی کے لیے متحد ہو کر آواز بلند کریں۔

A study circle was organised by the Revolutionary Students Front (RSF) on 10 May 2026 at The Struggle Office, Lahore, on the topic “Fascism, Neofascism and Islamic Fundamentalism.” The session was conducted by Dr. Farooq Sulehria.

The discussion approached fascism, neofascism and Islamic fundamentalism from a Marxist perspective, mainly drawing upon the writings of Leon Trotsky and Ernest Mandel.

Comrades discussed how neofascism has emerged as a major challenge in the current period of capitalist crisis. It was explained that fascism develops during deep crises of capitalism and imperialism, and ultimately leads towards war and repression.

The session stressed that fascism is not merely about violence, but also an imperialist phenomenon historically linked with advanced capitalist countries. In this context, comrades discussed how fascistic and authoritarian tendencies can develop internationally under capitalist crisis, although their forms differ according to specific historical and material conditions.

The discussion also explained the difference between classical fascism and contemporary neofascism. While classical fascism openly relied upon violence and street gangs to crush workers’ and left-wing movements, neofascism today advances more subtly through attacks on democratic rights and civil liberties.

On Islamic or religious fundamentalism, comrades stressed that it should not be confused with Islam or any other religion itself. The discussion highlighted how religious fundamentalism attempts to control society and the state through religion, while promoting discrimination and hatred against minorities.

The session concluded that neofascism can only be fought through organisation and class struggle by building the unity of workers, students and oppressed people towards socialist revolution.

The session ended with active discussion and participation from comrades.

The Revolutionary Students Front strongly condemns the state-driven and conspiratorial move to bar Comrade Baba Jan from participating in the elections in Gilgit-Baltistan.

Ahead of the elections, the crackdown against Action Committee members and other progressive leaders in Gilgit-Baltistan continues unabated. Comrade Shabbir Mayar has been imprisoned while being denied medical treatment, and now the malicious step of excluding Comrade Baba Jan from the electoral process has been taken.

Comrade Baba Jan is not merely the voice of the people of Hunza or Gilgit-Baltistan; he represents the struggles of all oppressed nationalities, workers, and youth. For consistently raising his voice in support of the Attabad affectees, workers, students, and every oppressed section of society, he has faced imprisonment and state repression. The ban imposed on him is, in reality, an attack on revolutionary ideas, class politics, and popular resistance.

In Gilgit-Baltistan, the so-called democratic process has always remained conditioned by state interference, political engineering, and restrictions on genuine public representation. The arrest of real popular leaders, their exclusion from the electoral process, and the silencing of progressive voices expose the reality that the people of the region are still being deprived of their political, constitutional, and economic rights. Elections in which the genuine voice of the working masses is silenced are reduced to nothing more than a hollow spectacle.

RSF appeals to students, youth, and working people across Gilgit-Baltistan, throughout the country, and in all territories under its administration to unite and become part of an organized struggle against repression, political victimization, and national and class exploitation.

Asif Rashid discussed the history of the Afghan Saur Revolution, its achievements, causes of defeat, and its lessons in the present global and regional context.

Dr. Sarfraz Khan, Islamuddin, and Rashid Sheikh further contributed to the discussion, while participants actively engaged through questions and debate.
