Rana Tahir Shabbir was born in the upper-middle class of Shabbir family in Multan on January 1, 1970. This Rajpoot family is considered as most respected and representative of all Rajpoots in Multan. His father Rana Shabbir Ahmad was a well known Politician and agriculturist. His family had migrated from “khaira”, village of India, “District “Hassaar” and stayed in Multan after migration. After the death of his father his elder brother Rana Kausar Shabbir served as member District Council for two times from 1985-1995. His Brother-in-law Rana Mehmood-ul-Hassan was MNA during 2002-2013 from PML (N). Rana Tahir Shabbir himself served Member, District council during 1997-98 and as Nazim Union Council during 2002-05.He has been elected as Member Provincial Assembly of the Punjab from his native constituency PP-203 in general elections 2013.
