World Bank Mid-Term Review Mission Visits Peshawar for KPEC Project

The World Bank mission visited Peshawar on March 31, 2026, and held a detailed progress review with the KPEC Project Management Unit. Key updates on Component II, including master planning, feasibility studies, and economic development initiatives were shared.
The mission also met the Secretary P&D for a wrap-up session, discussing progress and the proposed restructuring of the KPEC Project to enhance implementation and impact.

Under the Khyber Pass Economic Corridor (KPEC), a two-day Occupational Health & Safety (OHS) Training Session was Under the Khyber Pass Economic Corridor (KPEC), a two-day Occupational Health & Safety (OHS) Training Session was successfully conducted for the Silk Cluster on 10–11 February 2026 at the Agriculture Training Center, Bara, District Khyber, with the valuable support of Rescue 1122.
The training was part of the OHS Capacity Building Program, focusing on Workplace and fire safety, Emergency response and first aid, Electrical and chemical safety, and Safe handling practices and hygiene standards
The program aims to promote a culture of safety within the Silk Cluster, enhance emergency preparedness, and ensure healthier and safer working environments for cluster members.

Under the Khyber Pass Economic Corridor (KPEC), an Occupational Health & Safety (OHS) Training Session was conducted for the Women-led Boutique and Beauty Salon Cluster at WCCI with the support of Rescue 1122.

The session covered:
✔ Workplace & fire safety
✔ Emergency response & first aid
✔ Electrical and chemical safety
✔ Hygiene & ergonomic practices

This initiative aims to empower women entrepreneurs by ensuring safe and healthy workplaces and enhancing preparedness for emergencies.

OHS Training for Honey Bee Cluster:

Under the KPEC Business Cluster Capacity Building Program, in collaboration with KP Rescue 1122, a two-day Occupational Health & Safety (OHS) training was conducted at Agriculture Research Institute, Tarnab on 30–31 Dec 2025.

The session enhanced participants’ understanding of OHS policies, hazard identification, hazard mapping, and control measures for honey bee-related businesses.
