The Khyber Pass Economic Corridor (KPEC), in collaboration with KP Rescue 1122, organized an Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Training Session for the Information Technology Cluster Peshawar at KP-Verse.

The training focused on strengthening participants’ competencies in hazard identification, risk assessment, workplace and fire safety, emergency response and first aid, as well as electrical, chemical, hygiene, and ergonomic safety practices.

This initiative is aimed at improving occupational safety standards, minimizing workplace hazards, and fostering a culture of preparedness and compliance. It further contributes to enhanced employee well-being, increased operational efficiency, and the development of safer, more resilient, and sustainable business environments across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Under the Khyber Pass Economic Corridor (KPEC), a two-day Occupational Health & Safety (OHS) Training Session was successfully conducted for the Gems Cluster on 06–07 May 2026, with the valuable support of Rescue 1122.

The training was part of the OHS Capacity Building Program, focusing on Workplace and fire safety, Emergency response and first aid, Electrical and chemical safety, and Safe handling practices and hygiene standards.
The program aims to promote a culture of safety within the Gems Cluster, enhance emergency preparedness, and ensure healthier and safer working environments for cluster members.

World Bank Mid-Term Review Mission Visits Peshawar for KPEC Project

The World Bank mission visited Peshawar on March 31, 2026, and held a detailed progress review with the KPEC Project Management Unit. Key updates on Component II, including master planning, feasibility studies, and economic development initiatives were shared.
The mission also met the Secretary P&D for a wrap-up session, discussing progress and the proposed restructuring of the KPEC Project to enhance implementation and impact.
