LAW WOMEN, in collaboration with the ECOS team, recently extended much-needed support to families still recovering from the devastating floods. Under the dedicated leadership of Adv. Neelam Chattan, the team distributed bedding and essential items as a gesture of continued care and solidarity. Although the relief comes later than hoped, the initiative reflects our ongoing commitment to stand with affected communities, support their recovery, and ensure they are not forgotten. We remain grateful to everyone who contributed their time, effort, and compassion to make this outreach possible.

🌿 Building Resilience Through Nature 🌊

As part of our Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) efforts, WWF is implementing nature-based solutions to protect communities from riverine hazards. A new retaining wall will be constructed to help guide the river’s flow and reduce the risk of flooding in nearby villages.

Through the support of Ecos, we strengthened communication and collaboration with local communities — ensuring that every step is rooted in shared understanding and long-term sustainability. 💧🤝

Coral reefs are often called the “rainforests of the sea” because of their incredible biodiversity and vital ecological functions. They provide shelter and breeding grounds for nearly one-quarter of all marine species, supporting a rich food web that sustains both wildlife and human communities. Beyond biodiversity, coral reefs protect coastal areas by absorbing wave energy and reducing erosion caused by storms and rising seas. They also support millions of people worldwide through fisheries, tourism, and coastal livelihoods. Moreover, coral reefs contribute to global oxygen production and are sources of potential medicines. Protecting them is essential not only for marine ecosystems but also for human survival and climate resilience.

🌿 Building Resilience through Nature-Based Solutions

The Flood Response Project – DRR through Nature-Based Solutions (NBS), led by WWF, is supporting flood-affected communities in Shagai, Saidu Sharif (Swat). The initiative focuses on restoring ecosystems and strengthening resilience through sustainable, nature-driven rehabilitation efforts aimed at reducing future disaster risks.

🌊 ECOS Flood Relief Camp – August 27, 2025 | Makanbagh, Mingora, Swat

Through generous donations, ECOS provided 100 flood-affected families with essential relief packages, including food items, clothing, utensils, bedding, and pillows. This effort reflects our commitment to stand with communities in times of crisis and ensure support reaches those most in need.

Flood Relief Distribution in Swat 🌊

COPE organized the distribution of relief packages to 142 flood-affected families in Swat. ECOS volunteers joined hands in this effort to ensure fair and transparent distribution, by collecting data and identifying the most vulnerable households.

After the floods, we identified the most affected families to make sure relief reached those in greatest need. 🏚️ With the generous donation of pillows and mattresses from Mr. Farhad, we joined his team in distributing comfort and care to these households. 🛏️✨

This was not just about providing bedding—it was about restoring dignity and hope to families who have endured unimaginable hardship. Together, as volunteers, we stood side by side with the community, delivering relief directly to their doorsteps. 🤝❤️

We are deeply grateful to Mr. Farhad for his generosity and to every volunteer who helped make this possible. Through unity and compassion, we continue to bring comfort where it’s needed most. 🌍🙏
