RAIN-THUNDERSHOWERS PREDICATED IN THE COUNTRY DURING NEXT WEEK

Pakistan
Meteorological Department (PMD) informed that shallow westerly wave is likely to affect
western and upper parts of the country from Saturday night. Under the influence of this weather
system;
Rain-thundershowers with gusty winds is expected at scattered places in Khyber
Pakhtunkhwa during Sunday to Friday.
There is high risk of landslides in mountainous and sub mountainous areas of Khyber
Pakhtunkhwa and isolated events of hailstorm are also likely during the period.
It is, therefore, requested to remain alert during the aforementioned period besides
taking precautionary/preemptive measures so as to reduce disaster risk and to handle the situation
amicably. The Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA), however, remains intact with
all Divisional Control Rooms across the Province for prompt dissemination of information and to
swiftly handle any emergency situation, if so arrived.
