The name of the progenitor of the Khans of Zaida was Ballar Khan. Daraghi is said to be his progeny in the eighteenth generation. According to the Afghan/Pathan tradition,the tribal genealogy of the Khans of Zaida is: TAJU KHEL - AYUB KHEL - MANSOOR KHEL - BALLAR KHEIL - ABA KHEIL - JELOZAI - SADOZAI - UTMAN - MANDARN - EASOPZAI - KHAKHAZAI - KHARSHBUN - SARBANRI-2. Also the Pukhtoon, Syed, and Qazi families are quite famous in ZAIDA.
