NEW FILM
Anna Sławińska learned to sew before she learned to read. Today her quilts are shown at exhibitions across Poland and abroad, and she is known as the Queen of Polish Patchwork.
In the first episode of "Ordinary - Extraordinary," she talks about growing up in a dressmaker's home, about scrap quilts into which she sews the fates of strangers, about a nebula stitched with black thread on black velvet - and about fourteen thousand heart pillows for women recovering from mastectomy. There's also the story of how a 60-year-old woman met a single man. On the internet. Almost at a cemetery.
