Name disputes with Greece have kept Macedonia from joining the EU and NATO. But this year something is changing: a deal had been made between prime ministers from Macedonia and Greece. These changes have not yet been implemented, but (economic) relations are already profiting! The parliamentary session on constitutional changes regarding its name in Macedonia has begun yesterday.
As a prospective member of the European Union Macedonia is a very valuable partner state for us Young European Federalists. Before the recent referendum on the name change JEF Europe launched a europewide campaign to support our partner section in Skopje ( JEF Macedonia ). Macedonia might be a small country, but their JEF section is on fire and gives a great example for new, small sections like ourselves.
