Honey - best winter remedy for cold. You can make famous "piernik", gingerbread cake with it or hot lemon&honey drink. There are local Polish types of honey - coming from different regions, i.e. Sejneńszczyzna (North East). The tradition of beekeeping in these lands - documented in writing - date back to the fourteenth and fifteenth centuries.

Fairs organized before Christmas are popular in many cities. They have many advantages - they gather the local community, promote traditional and regional food products and handcrafts, and are a great alternative to impersonal shopping malls. In many Polish cities in December, you can visit the stalls of folk decorations, traditional cheeses, cold meats and pastries and mulled wine.

Two Turkish chefs and restaurateurs: Tarik Ertunc and Savas Bayazit are now in Poland at the invitation of the Adam Mickiewicz Institute (preparation for the Polish Year in Turkey). They spend in Warsaw and Krakow. Cooks are looking for inspiration to create a menu accompanying the exhibition "Poland-Turkey 1410-2014 - 600 years of political and cultural" (opening in March 2014 in Istanbul). There was a workshop "Polish pantry" with Arthur Grajber, chef of Sheraton hotel and Michał Tkaczyk, chef of Bristol.
