Today, on last day of May, as CELBET comes to an official close, we’re not just ending an expert team. We’re marking the culmination of years of cooperation, shared experience, building strong relations and tangible results that have strengthened customs controls across the EU’s external borders.

From missions, evaluations, equipment procurements and joint operations to expert trainings and creating Centres of Expertise — CELBET has been more than an expert team.
It has been a community. Strong customs community that speaks the same voice.
A network of committed professionals from 11 EU Member States who proved that acting as one is not a slogan, but a daily reality.

✅We connected customs officers.
✅We strengthened border protection.
✅We built solutions that will outlive the project – and continue to protect and secure EU borders and market.

The legacy of CELBET lives on.
In every BCP evaluation, in network report, in risk analysis, in every bus search, in every customs officer who gained new skills and partners across Europe.

Day 2️⃣ of Bus Search training in Przemyśl – completed!

🪛🔧The day was divided into two dynamic parts: theory and hands-on practice.

💡Theoretical sessions kicked off with a presentation on real seizure cases from EU countries delivered by trainees. Mateusz – a trainer from the 🇵🇱-🇺🇦 border – introduced techniques for effective tyre inspection and various scents that can reveal smugglers’ tampering with vehicle construction. Impressively, all participants identified them correctly!

🚌The practical part took place in a specially equipped garage, where a training bus—customized for this exercise—was waiting. The challenge? Detect concealed hiding spots planted by trainers, all under strict time pressure.

💡First day – done. Learning – in action !

CELBET Bus Search Training is taking place in Przemyśl 🇵🇱.
Customs officers from 15 countries
(🇦🇹 🇧🇬 🇨🇿 🇭🇷 🇪🇪 🇫🇮 🇬🇷 🇱🇹 🇱🇺 🇱🇻 🇩🇪 🇵🇱 🇸🇪 🇹🇷 🇭🇺) are diving into the complexities of bus inspections.

Our trainers: Jeno, Norbert 🇭🇺 and Mateusz, Robert and Wojciech 🇵🇱 presented the essentials:
✅Risk analysis
✅Real-life case studies
✅Psychological aspects of inspections
✅Inspection methodology
✅Structures of minibuses and small buses

✍🏻As the CELBET project approaches its finalization, expert team management signed CELBET Friends Book, which is the best evidence of the common journey, cooperation and achievements of all professionals involved in CELBET project.

✅During the final CELBET Steering Committee meeting in February, the book was enriched with messages and wishes from the Directors General of the Customs Administrations of the 11 CELBET Member States, serving as a high-level acknowledgement of the project’s significance and impact.

Now, during the meeting in Warsaw, the CELBET Friends Book received final additions - Management members added their signatures.

🏆CELBET Friends Book will be lasting symbol of the close cross-border cooperation and the enduring legacy of a project that has meaningfully strengthened Customs collaboration and connect customs officers within the European Union.💙🧡

🌐CELBET Management and National Contact Points from all 11 Member States, gathered in Warsaw for their final joint meeting at the CELBET office. The two-day meeting finished today, marking an important moment for the project. 🏆

🥇🏆National Contact Points - they have skillfully managed all the administrative, organizational, and complex financial matters, serving as the true backbone of CELBET. The National Contact Points have demonstrated remarkable professionalism throughout the project, acting as vital bridges between the CELBET team and national administrations. Their experience, commitment, and collaborative spirit have been essential to the success and smooth operation of the entire project.

📆As we approach the end of May, CELBET mission will be officially completed. 🥇

✅This meeting provided a valuable opportunity to conclude and finalize the administrative and financial tasks.

📋The aim of the Meeting in Warsaw was also finalization of the 60-month progress report. This comprehensive review reflects the collective efforts and dedication of the entire expert team, highlighting key achievements, challenges, and strategic insights from the third phase of CELBET.

🔜 Although CELBET is nearing its end, a Bus Search training in Przemyśl 🇵🇱and 2 Teams’ meetings are still scheduled for next 2 weeks.
