Ramey Sector US Border Patrol was honored to welcome White House Border Czar Thomas Homan for a visit recognizing the dedication, professionalism, and commitment of our agents to securing the Nation’s borders.

The visit provided an opportunity to discuss the challenges faced across Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands, highlight the important work conducted by our agents, and recognize the strong partnerships with federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies that strengthen our mission.

Our agents remain committed to protecting our borders and safeguarding our communities.

On October 16, 2026, Ramey Sector US Border Patrol agents with the assistance of the Isabela Municipal Police Department, responded to a maritime smuggling event and apprehended five illegal aliens from Haiti and the Dominican Republic. All subjects were transported to the Ramey U.S. Border Patrol Station for processing and removal proceedings.

Ramey Sector maintains a zero-tolerance approach to maritime smuggling and unlawful entry. Do not enter illegally. Individuals who violate federal immigration laws will face arrest, criminal prosecution, and removal proceedings.

Five illegal aliens are in USBP custody after the U.S. Coast Guard intercepted a 43-foot makeshift vessel in the waters near Cabo Rojo, Puerto Rico, carrying a staggering 7,249 lbs. of co***ne.

Four Venezuelan nationals and one Colombian national will be charged, processed, and deported.

Together, with our law enforcement partners we maintain a relentless watch over the vast maritime borders working to dismantle criminal networks, intercepting illicit cargo, and stopping dangerous threats long before they reach American shores.

Since July, Ramey Sector US Border Patrol, working closely with our federal and local law enforcement partners, have apprehended more than 73 illegal aliens during two maritime smuggling events. Those apprehended included nationals from India, Ecuador, Mexico, the Dominican Republic, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, and Venezuela.

These coordinated enforcement actions also resulted in the arrest of two U.S. citizens for aiding and abetting, as well as the seizure of a vehicle used in connection with the illegal activity.

Ramey Sector remains committed to working alongside our law enforcement partners to identify, disrupt, and dismantle smuggling networks operating throughout Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
