[SEP 6] 🌦️ Variable weather conditions today. Dangerous heat is expected as above-normal temperatures combine with high humidity. A tropical wave will also bring passing showers and isolated thunderstorms, with locally heavy rainfall possible this afternoon, especially across interior and northwestern Puerto Rico. Stay weather aware and monitor for updates.

Dangerous heat conditions are expected from 10 AM to 5 PM AST, especially across coastal and urban areas and lower elevations.

Stay hydrated, limit strenuous outdoor activities, take frequent breaks in the shade or air conditioning, and never leave children or pets in parked vehicles.

Se esperan condiciones de calor peligroso entre 10 AM y 5 PM AST, especialmente en zonas costeras, urbanas y de menor elevación.

[Sept 3rd] Drought Monitor Update 🏜️

Puerto Rico — Rainfall from the remnants of Dolly earlier this week brought some relief to NE and SE PR. Nevertheless, 40.99% of PR (including Vieques and Culebra) remain under Extreme Drought (D3).

U.S. Virgin Islands — Dolly's remnants resulted in beneficial rainfall for St. Croix, whereas St. Thomas and parts of St. John remained relatively dry. Groundwater levels remain low and Extreme Drought (D3) conditions persist.
