🌊 Dangerous beach conditions!

A High Surf Advisory is in effect today, Friday, October 23, from 6 AM to 6 PM AST for the Puerto Rico areas highlighted on the map.

A high risk of rip currents continues through Saturday, October 24, at 6 PM AST at affected beaches of Puerto Rico, Culebra, and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

Breaking waves and rip currents can be life-threatening. Stay out of the water and away from rocks and jetties.

La Advertencia de Oleaje Alto estará vigente hoy, viernes 23 de octubre, de 6 AM a 6 PM AST para las zonas indicadas en el mapa de Puerto Rico.

El riesgo alto de corrientes marinas continuará hasta el sábado 24 de octubre a las 6 PM AST en las playas afectadas de Puerto Rico, Culebra y las Islas Vírgenes Estadounidenses.

Las olas rompientes y las corrientes marinas pueden amenazar la vida. Evita entrar al agua y mantente alejado de rocas y rompeolas.

10/23 - Friday:

Today, Friday: dangerous surf and life-threatening rip currents will affect exposed northern beaches. Breaking waves around 10 feet are expected along north-central Puerto Rico. Stay out of the water.

This afternoon, showers and thunderstorms may cause localized flooding, especially across interior, northern, and western Puerto Rico. Never cross flooded roads, and head indoors when thunder is heard.

Hoy, viernes: oleaje rompiente peligroso y corrientes marinas amenazan la vida en playas expuestas del norte. Se esperan olas rompientes de unos 10 pies en el norte central de Puerto Rico. Evita entrar al agua.

Esta tarde, aguaceros y tronadas podrían causar inundaciones localizadas, especialmente en el interior, norte y oeste de Puerto Rico. No cruces vías inundadas y busca refugio si escuchas truenos.

🚨Hazardous Marine & Coastal Conditions🚨

A swell will affect the Mona Passage, Atlantic waters, and coastal areas of western, northern, and eastern Puerto Rico, as well as Culebra, St. Thomas, and St. John, resulting in hazardous surf conditions and an increased risk of rip currents.

🏖️ Rip Current Statements remain in effect through Saturday, October 24.
🌊 A High Surf Advisory is in effect early Friday, October 23.
🚤 Small Craft Advisory by Friday afternoon.
