Did you know? 💡 Coral reefs are one of the world’s most valuable ecosystems in terms of ecological, economic and cultural capital. But recent reports indicate that 58 to 70 percent of coral reefs globally are threatened by human-associated activities and global bleaching events. Overfishing, boating and recreational impacts, and pollution threaten coral ecosystems and reduce their resilience to environmental stressors.

The USDA E. Kika De La Garza Fellowship Program strengthens educational partnerships with faculty staff and administrators from Hispanic-Serving Institutions to collaborate with USDA to gain insight and understanding of the federal government.

The 2025 E. Kika De La Garza application window will remain open until March 6, 2025. Apply today!

¡Seguimos celebrando las octavitas! Queremos invitarles al recorrido de la finca de Juan Plaza en Adjuntas. Esta es una finca modelo del cultivo y uso de vetiver para mitigar la erosión. Veremos algunos aspectos que se consideran al crear un plan para la preservación de un sistema agrícola.
¡Los esperamos y les animamos a invitar a otros agricultores, vecinos y amistades!
