In support of its strategy to strengthen the economic and social resilience of women living in Area C communities, areas that are continuously exposed to multiple violations and challenges. The Psychosocial Counseling Center for Women has concluded a specialized training course on managing micro and income-generating projects for women.
The course was implemented with funding from the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), in cooperation with the Palestinian Family Planning and Protection Association (PFPPA). It targeted a group of women from the villages of Al-Minya, Al-Rashaidah, and Jub al theeb, with the aim of equipping them with the knowledge and practical skills required to manage small-scale, income-generating projects. The training sought to strengthen women’s self-reliance and improve their economic circumstances.
The training covered several key areas, including:
Financial management for small businesses, including cost calculation, profit determination, and the management of financial resources.
Development of marketing plans, including the use of digital marketing tools and methods.
Product-quality standards, identification of market needs, and alignment of products and services with those needs.
Following the training, the Center will select five participants who meet the established eligibility criteria to receive funding for five small income-generating projects across the three targeted communities. These villages are among those most affected by violations carried out by settlers and the Israeli military.
This training forms part of a broader approach led by the Psychosocial Counseling Center for Women to advance women’s economic empowerment. The Center recognizes poverty as one of the key factors contributing to increased violence against women; therefore, improving women’s access to sustainable income opportunities is essential to strengthening their independence, resilience, and safety.
