Ashraf Suleiman’s nephew, Najwan, was 19 when he was murdered by organized Palestinian crime groups while working at a grocery store. On that day, masked men stormed the store and began shooting as Najwan tried to escape. He fell to the floor and a bullet hit him in the back of the head and lodged near his spinal cord. For weeks, his family stayed by him as he struggled to survive. Ashraf said, “for our family, the two weeks during which Najwan fought for his life felt like two lifetimes of pain.”

Today, Ashraf is part of our Resilience Campaign fighting violent crime in Palestinian communities across the country. Listen to him talk about turning grief into action in the struggle to end this bloody reality.

Just a “regular” weekend in the West Bank. From Wadi Rahim in the south to Qusra in the north – more and more horrific attacks and harassment by Israeli settlers.

The truth is that settler terror would not be happening if the Israeli government didn’t want it to. Settlers post where they’re going to be and when – they publicize their plans to attack Palestinians. They brag about the attacks they’ve carried out. And they know they won’t face justice because this violence is state-backed. Both the army and the government help ensure that this violence against so many families and communities continues.

This is the reality in the West Bank that we have to change. These horrors must end. The occupation must end.

Threats of demolition and expulsion are not new for Khan al Ahmar, but this extremist government makes the threat particularly dangerous.

We will not accept this reality and we won’t stop fighting to end the occupation and to build a better reality on this land for everyone who lives here.

This terrifying reality must end now. Instead of more occupation, bloodshed, and grief, our government must immediately enter into negotiations with the Lebanese government and the Israeli army must leave Lebanon. The forever war cannot continue.

Over the last few days, residents of southern Lebanon and northern Israel have been living in deepening fear and uncertainty. The Israeli army is pushing further into Lebanon and continuing to occupy the south of the country, pushing more and more residents out of their homes and carrying out airstrikes across the south every day. Today, Lebanon’s Health Ministry said 13 hospital staff had been wounded in a strike near a hospital in Tyre. Since late February, more than 3,3000 people have been killed.

In northern Israel, which still hasn’t recovered from the first war with Iran almost a year ago, residents face constant drone and rocket attacks, often with nowhere safe to shelter. The protection disparity is the worst in Palestinian villages. And instead of protecting citizens under fire, our government is choosing more war, destruction, and grief. Just like the last rounds, we know this cycle of violence will not make us safer. This isn’t what safety looks like.

As Jews and Palestinians on the ground, we have to be clear: Our extremist government wants war at any cost. There’s a line connecting the escalation with Lebanon in the north, the violations of the “ceasefire” in Gaza, and the calls to go back to war with Iran: complete, total disregard for human life.

Safety will not come from more bombs and war. It will come from a real ceasefire, agreements, and an end to the occupation. There is an alternative to cycle after cycle of war and bloodshed, and it’s good for all of us: peace.

Palestinians deserve to live with dignity. And while we fight to end the occupation, we can strengthen our solidarity across the land by looking out for one another and resisting our government’s racism and dehumanization.

Hundreds of people in the village of Khan al Ahmar are facing ethnic cleansing as the Israeli government doubles down on plans to expel communities and cut the West Bank in two, separating the north and south.

This is not only a disaster for Palestinians living in the villages in the central West Bank, it’s also another way our extremist government is creating facts on the ground and preventing the possibility of a Palestinian state.

Everyone must stand with the communities under immediate threat and fight this horrific plan that will bring more displacement and violence and deepen the occupation even more.

We visited Eid Jahalin in his community of Khan al Ahmar in the West Bank, which is part of the important E1 area located between the north and south West Bank that is being threatened by the government.

Last week, Smotrich ordered the expulsion of the community of Khan al Ahmar, apparently in revenge for The Hague seeking an arrest warrant against him. Listen to Eid describe the reality for him and his community under threat of expulsion.

In the face of racism and violence, we organize as a community, Jews and Palestinians, and stand with one other. Our solidarity and partnership is our answer to attacks and intimidation.

26/05/2026

The attempted expulsion of Khan al-Ahmar is part of a broader government plan to take control of the central West Bank area, a key territory connecting the north and the south of the West Bank, and remove Palestinians residents.

Our Solidarity Guard activists operate 24/7 to provide protective presence in this area, which is located about 20 minutes from Jerusalem. We will continue to stand in solidarity with Khan al Ahmar and the nearby communities against settler terror and ethnic cleansing.

25/05/2026

Our Solidarity Guard sees the reality of the occupation every single day in the West Bank while providing protective presence to Palestinian communities. We see how settlers terrorize and expel communities, and how soldiers and police stand by without intervening – or join themselves. We see how it’s often Palestinians who are arrested instead of the settlers. And we see the weapons the settlers carry and use to attack and harm Palestinians that were supplied by the Israeli army. This is what we mean by state-backed settler violence.
