After a two-year halt, we were glad to participate once again in the Annual Bethlehem Christmas market. Thank you Bethlehem Municipality - بلدية بيت لحم for giving us the chance to share some of our Swiss delights with the local Palestinian community. Our proceeds will support a local Palestinian charity during these special times.

Last month, our Head of Mission attended the inauguration ceremony of the Vacare Deo Garden of Contemplation at the Benedictine Monastery of the Mount of Olives in Jerusalem. The creation of this garden, with the support of our office alongside others, is the culmination of nearly four years of reflection, dedication, and collaboration, resulting in a peaceful space overlooking Jerusalem where visitors can rest and reflect in the midst of this special monastery

This week, our office supported the launch of the Women in AI and Business Tech Network, driven by local AI expert Dr Mona Nabil Demaidi, who joined forces with Swiss AI expert Mrs. Penny Schiffer, under the umbrella of the Business Women Forum- Palestine. The project included a series of interactive meetings to further link the Swiss and Palestinian startup and AI ecosystems, with a focus on the female drivers in these fields. We thank both Dr. Mona Demaidi and Mrs. Penny Schiffer for this successful project, and look forward for more to come.

🇨🇭 تألق الشباب السويسريون في مسابقة المهارات الأوروبية 🏆
خلال بطولة المهارات الأوروبية في هيرنينج، الدنمارك، أوائل شهر سبتمبر، تصدرت سويسرا قائمة الدول بـ 11 ميدالية: 6 🥇 (الأزياء، التكنولوجيا، ريادة الأعمال، تكنولوجيا المركبات الثقيلة)، 3 🥉 و2 🥈
تألف الفريق السويسري من 16 موهبة شابة تنافست في 14 تخصصًا. بعد اختيارهم من قبل جمعياتهم المهنية، خضعوا لتدريب مكثف من 1,000 ساعة تحضير.
في سويسرا، يختار حوالي ثلثي الشباب نظام التعليم والتدريب المهني المزدوج (VET) بعد التعليم الإلزامي، ما يختلف عن العديد من الدول الأخرى الذي يتبع لديها التعليم مسارًا أكاديميًا بشكل أساسي. يتميز نظام التعليم والتدريب المهني بتوجهه العملي وارتباطه القوي بسوق العمل.

🇨🇭 Young Swiss professionals stand out at EuroSkills! 🏆
At the European Skills Championships in Herning, Denmark, early September, Switzerland ranked #1 nation with 11 medals: 6 🥇 (fashion, technology, entrepreneurship, heavy vehicle technology), 3 🥈 and 2 🥉.
The Swiss team was made up of 16 young talents competing in 14 disciplines. Selected by their professional associations, they trained intensively with nearly 1,000 hours of preparation.
In Switzerland, about two-thirds of young people choose the VET (vocational education and training) dual system after compulsory schooling. Unlike many other countries where education mainly follows an academic track, VET is practice-oriented and closely linked to the world of work.
Because these programs match real demand for skills and jobs, Switzerland has one of the lowest youth unemployment rates worldwide. 🌎
