Estonia's Ambassador to Portugal, Moonika Kase, on an official visit to the Autonomous Region of Madeira, was received in audience by the President of the Legislative Assembly of the Autonomous Region of Madeira, Rubina Leal, in a meeting marked by the sharing of perspectives on topics of common interest.

During the meeting, the importance of a strong and cohesive Europe, united with its allies and reinforcing the pillars of the European project, was emphasized. In this context, it was highlighted that fundamental values ​​such as peace must continue to prevail, guiding European construction and promoting connection between different peoples.

Another topic discussed concerned the shared commitment of Madeira and Estonia to the digital sector, recognized as a strategic sector that decisively contributes to economic development and the improvement of the quality of life of the populations.

O Secretário Regional de Turismo, Ambiente e Cultura, Eduardo Jesus, foi, recentemente, o convidado de um almoço promovido pela Associação do Corpo Consular da Região, onde sublinhou que o desenvolvimento da Região Autónoma da Madeira sempre esteve ligado à sua abertura ao mundo, enaltecendo o papel das relações diplomaticas através dos consulados nestas ligações que se estabelecem e perpetuam. Eduardo Jesus estabeleceu ainda uma ligação direta entre esta realidade histórica e o papel desempenhado pelo corpo consular, defendendo que a representação diplomática eficaz na Região tem sido determinante para fortalecer as relações com diferentes países.
O governante deixou uma palavra de reconhecimento e agradecimento pelo trabalho desenvolvido pelos representantes consulares, enaltecendo o contributo pessoal e institucional dos seus membros para o desenvolvimento da Madeira e do Porto Santo, bem como o papel contínuo que desempenham na projeção externa da Região e no reforço das suas relações internacionais.

On November 4 the 🇪🇪 Embassy hosted an Honorary Consuls’ Seminar for the Estonian Honorary Consuls in Portugal 🇵🇹 – attended by Honorary Consul in Funchal, Mr. Fernando Catanho, Honorary Consul in Tavira, Mr. Gonçalo Martins Dias, and Honorary Consul in Porto, Mr. Mário Ferreira. It was also a good opportunity to thank our Honorary Consuls for their valuable contribution and cooperation.��

We are thankful to Pipedrive and Bolt for sharing their experience and giving us an insight into their success stories. A special thanks to Pipedrive for supporting the whole event and letting us enjoy their lovely office space in the heart of Lisbon.

Furthermore, Mr. Peeter Püvi and Mr. Arvo Anton brought us up to date with the latest developments in Estonian consular matters and business diplomacy.

Last but not least, we had the opportunity to visit the Autoridade Nacional de Emergência e Proteção Civil (Portuguese National Authority for Emergency and Civil Protection) and learn about how crisis and emergency situations are handled in Portugal. It was definitely insightful and useful!
