O Governo Palestiniano organizou uma visita de campo a Khan al-Ahmar, com a participação de dezenas de diplomatas árabes e estrangeiros acreditados na Palestina.

A visita destacou a ameaça de deslocação forçada que Khan al-Ahmar enfrenta como resultado do projeto de expansão do colonato E1, para além dos ataques de colonos e do terrorismo.

Ministra Shahin realiza conversa telefónica com a Alta Representante da UE, Kaja Kallas

Ramallah – 11 de junho de 2026 A Ministra dos Negócios Estrangeiros e dos Expatriados, Dra. Varsine Aghabekian Shahin, falou hoje por telefone com a Alta Representante da União Europeia, Sra. Kaja Kallas.

A Ministra Shahin analisou a situação catastrófica na Faixa de Gaza sob a contínua agressão israelita, incluindo o assassinato de civis, o controlo das passagens fronteiriças e a restrição da entrada de ajuda humanitária suficiente, o que dificulta o atendimento das necessidades básicas dos residentes da Faixa.

Shahin informou ainda Kallas sobre a deterioração da situação na Cisjordânia, em resultado das políticas de anexação, da expansão dos colonatos, do anúncio da construção de novos colonatos e da escalada dos ataques dos colonos sob a proteção do exército de ocupação, para além da contínua retenção das receitas de desflorestação, o que prejudica a capacidade do governo palestiniano de cumprir as suas obrigações e de satisfazer as necessidades do seu povo.

A Ministra Shaheen apelou à União Europeia para que tome medidas práticas e concretas no sentido de apoiar a resiliência do povo palestiniano nas suas terras, proíba os produtos provenientes dos assentamentos, assegure a implementação do parecer consultivo do Tribunal Internacional de Justiça e cumpra as obrigações dele decorrentes, e se comprometa a implementar a Declaração de Nova Iorque de forma a garantir a concretização da solução de dois Estados.

As duas partes discutiram formas de reforçar a cooperação conjunta a vários níveis, contribuindo para alcançar a paz e a estabilidade na região.

We were honoured to attend the PhD defense of Dr. João Pedro Borralho and to witness the presentation of his important research, Hunger Strikes in Palestine: Resisting Military Occupation, Administrative Detention and Carceral Power.

The issue of Palestinian prisoners remains one of the most pressing human rights and international law issues of our time. Thousands of Palestinians, including children, women, and elderly people, continue to be subjected to arbitrary arrest, imprisonment, and administrative detention by the Israeli occupation. The widespread use of arbitrary detention, alongside documented reports by international human rights organizations and UN experts of torture, ill-treatment, sexual violence, medical neglect, and deaths in detention, raises serious concerns regarding grave violations of international humanitarian law and international human rights law. These illegal practices undermine fundamental principles of justice, accountability, and human dignity, and are indicative of a broader system of structural oppression affecting Palestinian society as a whole.

We extend our sincere congratulations to Dr. João Pedro Borralho on this outstanding academic achievement and express our deep appreciation to Professor Giulia Daniele, as well as to all the professors, researchers, and interviewees who contributed to this significant work.

Universities play a fundamental role in advancing knowledge, safeguarding academic freedom, and creating space for rigorous inquiry into questions of justice, power, and human rights. In contexts marked by prolonged occupation and systemic violations, this responsibility becomes even more essential. Research of this nature is not merely academic; it is a vital contribution to documenting painful reality, challenging silence, and deepening collective understanding of conditions that demand international attention and accountability.

O Ministério dos Negócios Estrangeiros e dos Expatriados condena veementemente o crime hediondo cometido pelas forças de ocupação israelitas no sábado à noite, quando atacaram tendas que abrigavam civis deslocados perto da Escola Preparatória Masculina Al-Rimal, no bairro de Al-Rimal, a oeste da Cidade de Gaza. O ataque resultou na morte de seis palestinianos, incluindo duas mulheres, e feriu pelo menos 15 outros, a maioria crianças.

O Ministério considera que os ataques a abrigos que acolhem famílias deslocadas, incluindo crianças e mulheres que já perderam as suas casas, fazem parte do genocídio em curso contra o povo palestiniano. Tal acto reflecte um flagrante desrespeito pelo direito internacional humanitário e pelas obrigações da potência ocupante, agravando ainda mais a catástrofe humanitária na Faixa de Gaza e ignorando o plano do Presidente Trump, bem como as resoluções pertinentes do Conselho de Segurança das Nações Unidas, incluindo a Resolução 2803.

O Ministério responsabiliza o governo israelita integral e diretamente por este crime e por todos os outros crimes cometidos contra o povo palestiniano. Sublinha que a contínua impunidade perpetrada por Israel incentiva a repetição e a escalada dos massacres contra civis palestinianos e mina qualquer perspectiva de uma paz justa e de responsabilização.

O Ministério apela aos Estados mediadores e garantes, em particular aos Estados Unidos, para que tomem medidas imediatas no sentido de obrigar Israel a cessar os seus ataques contra civis, a cumprir o direito internacional e a garantir a entrega irrestrita de ajuda humanitária à Faixa de Gaza.

Always a pleasure to share a glimpse of Palestine’s rich culture and heritage. Last week, we were delighted to participate in West Asia Day, part of the Festival of Asian Cultures 2026, at the Faculty of Arts and Humanities of the University of Lisbon, organised by the Asian Studies League.

It was a pleasure to meet students, professors, and visitors and to introduce them to the Palestinian culture through books, traditional embroidery, olive wood handicrafts, and other artisanal pieces that reflect our heritage and identity.

Grateful for the opportunity to engage with the academic community and the wider public through this exchange of culture and dialogue.
