🎬 🇹🇭The MOTELX – Lisbon International Horror Film Festival celebrates its 20th edition this year from 3-13 September 2026, presenting a diverse selection of international horror films alongside works from the science-fiction and fantasy genres.
The Royal Thai Embassy in Lisbon continues its collaboration with the MOTELX Committee and we are privileged to bring three exceptional Thai films to Portuguese audiences, once again at the iconic Cinema São Jorge in Lisbon

Directed by acclaimed Thai filmmaker Pen-ek Ratanaruang, Morte Cucina follows Sao, a waitress at a Bangkok restaurant whose exceptional talent in the kitchen conceals the scars of a painful past. Having rebuilt a peaceful and fulfilling life, Sao unexpectedly comes face to face with the man responsible for the physical and emotional wounds she still carries. Confronted once again by her past, she decides to seek revenge in the way she knows best — through her mastery of Thai cuisine.
Since 2008, the Royal Thai Embassy in Lisbon has collaborated with MOTELX to bring outstanding Thai horror films to Portuguese audiences, contributing to cultural exchange and promoting Thai cinema in Portugal.

Realizado pelo aclamado cineasta tailandês Pen-ek Ratanaruang, Morte Cucina acompanha Sao, uma empregada de mesa num restaurante de Banguecoque, cujo talento excecional na cozinha esconde as marcas de um passado doloroso. Depois de ter reconstruído uma vida tranquila e gratificante, Sao vê-se inesperadamente frente a frente com o homem responsável pelas feridas físicas e emocionais que ainda carrega. Confrontada novamente com o seu passado, decide procurar vingança da forma que melhor conhece — através do seu domínio da gastronomia tailandesa.
Desde 2008, a Embaixada do Reino da Tailândia em Lisboa colabora com o MOTELX para trazer ao público português alguns dos mais marcantes filmes de terror tailandeses, contribuindo para o intercâmbio cultural e para a promoção do cinema tailandês em Portugal.

เทศกาลภาพยนตร์สยองขวัญนานาชาติ กรุงลิสบอน (MOTELX) จัดขึ้นอีกครั้งเป็นครั้งที่ 20 ระหว่าง 3-13 กันยายน 2569 ในปีนี้ สถานเอกอัครราขทูต ณ กรุงลิสบอน ร่วมกับคณะกรรมการผู้จัดงาน MOTELX นำเสนอภาพยนตร์ไทยสาขาสยองขวัญและแฟนตาซีรวม 3 เรื่อง โดยจะฉายภาพยนตร์เรื่อง ครัวสาว รอบปฐมทัศน์ เป็นเรื่องแรก ดังนี้

“ครัวสาว” กำกับโดย เป็นเอก รัตนเรือง ผู้กำกับภาพยนตร์ไทยชื่อดัง ถ่ายทอดเรื่องราวของ สาว พนักงานเสิร์ฟในร้านอาหารแห่งหนึ่งในกรุงเทพฯ ผู้มีพรสวรรค์ด้านการทำอาหาร แต่เบื้องหลังความสามารถนั้นซ่อนบาดแผลจากอดีตอันเจ็บปวดเอาไว้ หลังจากที่เธอสามารถสร้างชีวิตใหม่ที่สงบสุขและลงตัวได้แล้ว สาวกลับต้องเผชิญหน้ากับชายผู้เป็นต้นเหตุของบาดแผลทั้งทางร่างกายและจิตใจที่ยังคงติดตัวเธอ เมื่ออดีตหวนกลับมาอีกครั้ง เธอจึงตัดสินใจแก้แค้นด้วยวิธีที่เธอถนัดที่สุด — ผ่านฝีมือและศาสตร์แห่งอาหารไทยของเธอ
ตั้งแต่ปี 2551 สถานเอกอัครราชทูต ณ กรุงลิสบอน ได้ร่วมกับคณะกรรมการจัดงานเทศกาลภาพยนตร์ MOTELX ในการนำภาพยนตร์สยองขวัญไทยที่โดดเด่นและหลากหลายมาจัดฉายให้แก่ผู้ชมชาวโปรตุเกสอย่างต่อเนื่อง อันเป็นส่วนหนึ่งของการส่งเสริมการแลกเปลี่ยนทางวัฒนธรรมและเผยแพร่ภาพยนตร์ไทยในโปรตุเกส
