GORD and Australian University (AU) in Kuwait have signed a three-year cooperation agreement to strengthen sustainability education, professional capacity building, and research in green building practices.

The collaboration will integrate GSAS Design and Build standards into relevant academic curricula, provide specialized training and certification opportunities for university faculty members, and equip students with knowledge of sustainability assessment methodologies and practical approaches to improving building environmental performance.

Through this partnership, GORD continues to expand the academic reach of its Global Sustainability Assessment System (GSAS) and support the development of qualified sustainability professionals across the region.

Our participation brought sustainability expertise to discussions on ESG disclosure, business resilience and long-term value creation, alongside our work across ESG and sustainability strategy, energy audits, reporting and disclosures, climate risk, sustainable finance, and net-zero and decarbonization planning.

The conference also provided an opportunity to highlight digital solutions that make sustainability management and reporting more efficient, including SustainoAI and the MAT-Index.

Through our MoU with the Ministry of Municipality (MoM), GORD will lend its technical expertise to develop a comprehensive regulatory framework for waste management, aligned with GORD’s Global Sustainability Assessment System (GSAS).

Together, we aim to integrate policy, research, and market mechanisms to create tangible pathways toward a low-carbon future for Qatar.

Lusail Plaza Tower 3 has received the GSAS Design & Build 4 Stars certification, reflecting a commitment to sustainable building practices and environmental responsibility.

GSAS is officially adopted as the regional Gulf Standard GSO 3000:2025 for sustainable buildings across all GCC countries.

The League of Arab States (LAS) and the Global Carbon Council (GCC) will jointly host the Arab Climate Pavilion at COP31 in Antalya, Türkiye, from 9–20 November 2026.
 
With an Arab identity and an international outlook, the Arab Climate Pavilion will serve as a meeting point for stakeholders from across countries and sectors throughout COP31. It will highlight regional climate priorities and experiences alongside international perspectives, creating opportunities to strengthen partnerships and support joint action.

At the 5th RetrofitTech & Sustainable Buildings Qatar Summit, GORD joined the conversation on the next chapter of Qatar’s built environment: how to ensure the buildings we designed sustainably continue to perform as intended.

In his keynote, GORD Founding Chairman Dr. Yousef M. Alhorr highlighted the shift from sustainable design to long-term building performance, powered by better operations, qualified professionals, data and AI.

GORD also introduced the new GSAS Service Provider Accreditation Scheme for Facility Management, recognizing providers that operate buildings in line with their intended performance standards.
