You don't need an inspector to know your fire doors are failing.
You need 30 seconds and your own hand. πͺ
Save this and walk one corridor today.
1. The gap test. Slide two fingers into the gap around the leaf. If they fit comfortably, the gap is too wide and smoke will pass.
2. Hinges. Three hinges minimum, every screw present and tight. Missing screws are the single most common defect we record.
3. Self-close and latch.Open the door halfway, let go. It must close *and* latch on its own. Closing but not latching counts as a fail.
4. The seal. Look along the edges. If the intumescent seal has been painted over during a refurbishment, it cannot expand β and the door is no longer rated.
5. The label. Torch on the top edge. No certification label means no verifiable rating, no matter how the door looks.
Five checks. Thirty seconds. In a typical Doha hotel or hospital corridor, we'd expect two or three doors in ten to fail at least one.
This isn't a replacement for a formal inspection β it's how you find out whether you need one urgently. Manycon inspects, documents and certifies fire doors across full portfolios. π₯
