Kazakhstan’s Digital Code: A New Era of AI, Policy, and International Cooperation

The Round Table “Kazakhstan in the Era of Artificial Intelligence” is held on 7 October, 2025 at Grand Hotel Bucharest in the presence of various distinguished guests (diplomatic corps, civil society, academia, think-tanks) to whom MEPEI (Middle East Political and Economic Institute) expresses gratitude for their participation. For the event to take place, MEPEI co-organized it with EuroDefense Romania partnered with the Embassy of the Republic of Kazakhstan to Romania, and Nine O’clock publication as the main media partner.
The event main’s role is for the Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan, HE Mr Ali Yerlik, to Romania to debunk for the attendees President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, HE Mr. Kassym-Jomart Tokayev’s national strategy for digitalization. It emphasizes that digitalization and artificial intelligence (AI) should be at the core of the country’s economic strategy. The opening speech of the Ambassador is followed by the Romanian experts view on the matter, their background ranging from matters of security, governance and economic strategies.

Radu-Cristian MUȘETESCU, Professor, Bucharest University of Economic Studies (ASE);
Ecaterina MAȚOI, Program Director, MEPEI, and President, Strategic Dialogue for Global Affairs Initiative (SDGAi),
and Octavian-Dragomir JORA, Assistant Professor, Bucharest University of Economic Studies (ASE).
The event is moderated by Flavius CABA-MARIA, President, Middle East Political and Economic Institute.
At the Round Table, Mr. Mihai Manea, Owner of Nine O’Clock and Vice President of the CEO Club by Future Economy, participated alongside his wife, Mrs. Manea Florina, President of the “Right to Dream” Foundation and CEO of Ziarul News – daily newspaper.
