Today, our yoga teacher, Miss Veronica Mathew, wanted to share a personal experience from her own journey with yoga practice.

“Many years ago, I was living and working in the UK in the high fashion industry.

At that time, I was very stressed, emotionally exhausted, demotivated, and constantly low on energy.

By the time lunch break came, I often felt such a strong need to close my eyes and rest because I simply could not function properly anymore.

That was the level of emotional burnout and exhaustion I was experiencing at that time.

Around the same period, I had started practising yoga.

I was already noticing benefits from it and I wanted to make it part of my daily life, but because my work finished late, I could not regularly attend evening classes.

Then I found one yoga studio that had classes every morning from 7 to 8 a.m.

Honestly, waking up early was not exactly my cup of tea 😊

But because I genuinely wanted to practise daily, I started waking up at 5:45 every morning in order to get there for the 7 a.m. class.

Whether it was raining, cold, dark outside, or the weather was nice… I was still going.

And this is when I learnt something very surprising.

Even though technically I was sleeping one hour less, my energy levels throughout the day became much higher.

I stopped feeling exhausted during lunch breaks. And that felt awesome!

And extra:
- I felt calmer, clearer, more balanced, and much more alive.

That was when I truly understood the importance of the morning yoga practice.

Sometimes the solution to low energy is not getting more sleep.

It is:
* better quality sleep
* going to bed a little earlier
* waking up with purpose
* and starting the day by properly regulating the body, mind and soul.

At the Embassy of India , we meet every morning online for
- for energising yoga classes
- Monday to Friday, from 7:00 to 8:00 a.m.,
- in English or Romanian depending on the participants.

Every week, the classes have a different focus that we work towards through the practices and postures.

This week’s focus is:
Focus • Balance • Endurance

So if you are feeling mentally drained, emotionally exhausted, stressed, or low on energy…

I warmly invite you to try this practice.

Not because this practice is a “quick fix”.

But because consistent morning practice can slowly transform the way you feel, think, sleep, and function throughout the day.

Sometimes one hour in the morning can change the quality of your entire day.”
