🏫👊Forward on Urban Youth Volunteering 21 (or YouVol21) gathered partners from Thessaloniki, Maribor, Cluj, Novi Sad and Strumica in the lovely city of Plovdiv 2019/ European capital of culture 2019 for a learning and Design Thinking activity activity focusing on defining the problem and ideating solutions for better urban youth volunteering on urban youth ecosystem level.

👉The project will develop core principles and practical tools and solutions on this matter. Partners will co-create this tools by November 2023 and will test and improve them until April 2024. Final solutions and conclusions will be presented in Cluj in April 2024 during the second Cluj Youth Event.

🚀YouVol21 It is a project funded by the European Union through the Erasmus+ programme and it's Romanian National Agency.

Project partners are Plovdiv 2019/ European capital of culture 2019, Pekarna Magdalenske mreže, UNESCO Youth Club of Thessaloniki Youth Alliance and Omladinski savez udruženja OPENS.

Plovdiv is our host for the next days. We are working with partners from the European Capital of Culture cities Thessaloniki 1997, Plovdiv 2019 and Novi Sad 2022, and European Youth Capital cities Maribor 2013, Thessaloniki 2014, Cluj-Napoca 2015 and Novi Sad 2019, and our guest city of Strumica from North Macedonia addressing the issue of urban level youth volunteering management. We had an opening evening together with local volunteer organisations where we presented some of our preliminary conclusions of the Happy City survey and its 2023 volunteering special edition. And because it was Europe Day, we wish all of you a Happy Europe Day! Happy European Cities was a true connection of relevant organisations. Next days will be about defining the problem and ideating possible solution using the method of Design Thinking. Keep you posted.

The work on delivering new ways for Local Action for Youth (LAYOUTH) is going on in Klaipeda - European Youth Capital 2021 and Palanga involving our partners Fundação Bracara Augusta MKC Maribor UNESCO Youth Club of Thessaloniki PONT Group Varna - European Youth Capital OPENS - Omladinska prestonica Evrope Novi Sad Amiens for youth and Amicus Certus. Challenges for young people in European cities are changing and cities need to adapt for a post-pandemic urban reality.
