Happy 247th Birthday U.S. Army!

The Army Support Activity-Black Sea Family & Morale, Welfare and Recreation team organized Fun Runs, involving soldiers from other nations such as the British Army, at Novo Selo Training Area, Bulgaria; and Mihail Kogalniceanu, Romania to celebrate the U.S. Army's birthday.

The U.S. Army was founded on June 14, 1775, when the Continental Congress authorized the enlistment of expert riflemen to serve the United Colonies for one year.

Fostering security cooperation

Soldiers from 2d Cavalry Regiment showcase the U.S. Army’s Stryker infantry carrier vehicle in addition to the joint light tactical vehicle and the RQ-11 small unmanned aircraft system at HEMUS International Defense Equipment and Services Exhibition June 1-4, 2022. The soldiers presence confirms the strong strategic partnership between the US and Bulgaria.

They even met President of the Republic of Bulgaria Rumen Radev!

Honor the fallen.

Staff and service members from 2d Cavalry Regiment; 4th Security Force Assistance Brigade; Bulgarian Military Police; Area Support Activity-Black Sea; and 1st Battalion, The Royal Irish Regiment, British Army; hold a ceremony on Memorial Day to pay tribute to veterans, as well as service men and women who have paid the ultimate sacrifice to safeguard their country.

Lifting heavy + some brawling = a good time 💪🏽

Last weekend, in celebration of our partnership with Bulgaria, U.S. Army soldiers partook in the Sliven Strongman competition 🇧🇬 ⚒🇺🇸 The competition was inspired by Hadzhi Dimitar, a Bulgarian revolutionary who scaled a mountain with 43 liters of wine to resupply his unit.
