📚 Today, 25 August, the Bucovina Institute Association hosted the pre-piloting stage of the Competence Framework, developed within the WISE4Women – Financial Intelligence of Immigrant Women for Independent Stability and Empowerment project.

The meeting brought together partners, educators, women entrepreneurs and experts with relevant experience in the project’s field. Participants reviewed the proposed content and discussed how their experience and expertise could contribute to its development and improvement.

💡 Discussions focused on the challenges migrant women face in developing financial skills, as well as on the ideas and solutions that experts can contribute based on their professional and practical experience.

WISE4Women is a European project dedicated to supporting migrant women in developing financial skills and strengthening their independence through knowledge and tools that can help them make better-informed financial decisions.

🌍 Imagine starting over in a new country.

You have a new home, new opportunities and a new financial system to navigate. Where do you start?

Financial empowerment goes beyond simply knowing how to manage money. It means understanding your rights, budgeting your resources, saving and investing, using digital banking safely and recognising financial risks and scams.

Through WISE – Financial Intelligence of Immigrant Women, we are working to make this journey more accessible by developing learning tools that build financial knowledge, practical skills and confidence.

📢 On 10–11 August 2026, we held the second Transnational Project Meeting (TPM) of the WISE – Financial Intelligence of Immigrant Women for Independent Stability and Empowerment project at Halmstad University, Sweden.

🤝 The two-day meeting brought together the WISE partners to review the progress achieved so far, discuss ongoing activities and coordinate the next stages of the project. It was also a valuable opportunity to exchange ideas, share perspectives and strengthen our common approach.

💡 WISE aims to strengthen financial literacy among migrant women by providing practical tools and resources that support better-informed financial decisions and greater financial independence.

A highlight of the TPM was our collaboration with the International Summer School at Halmstad University. Participants were introduced to WISE and took part in interactive activities, sharing ideas and concepts that will contribute to the development of the project's future gamification tools. 🎮

🌍 This TPM was an important milestone for WISE, helping us turn ideas into concrete next steps and further shape the tools and activities that will support financial education, empowerment and social inclusion.

We are looking forward to continuing this work together and bringing the outcomes of these discussions into the next stages of the project.

🌍 Starting over in a new country can also mean starting over financially.

For many migrant women, the first months can bring unexpected expenses — housing deposits, legal fees, language courses, remittances — while navigating an unfamiliar financial system. What begins as a period of adjustment can quickly lead to financial fragility or over-indebtedness.

🎥 This short video offers a glimpse into the financial survival phase and some of the challenges migrant women may face along the way.

With WISE – Financial Intelligence of Immigrant Women, we want to support the journey beyond survival — strengthening financial literacy, building confidence in financial decision-making, and creating tools that foster long-term financial empowerment.

🌍 WISE Financial Intelligence Competence Framework enters the pre-pilot phase!

This August, the WISE Erasmus+ project https://wise4women.eu/ will launch the pre-piloting of its Financial Intelligence Competence Framework across partner countries.

As part of this important phase, each WISE partner will organize national pre-pilot activities and engage external experts to review, evaluate, and provide feedback on the framework. Their valuable insights will support the further refinement of this key project result and ensure that it responds to the needs of learners and educators.
The pre-pilot activities will take place in:

🎲🌍 Innovation meets education at the WISER Summer School!
This summer, Halmstad University welcomes students from across Europe, Canada, and Argentina to participate in WISER – Wicked Games for Wicked Problems: Empowerment through Game Design, an international summer school organized within the HEROES European University alliance.

As part of the programme, participants will work on a real societal challenge through the WISE Erasmus+ project. Using the WISE Financial Intelligence Competence Framework, students will design educational board games that promote financial literacy, economic empowerment, financial stability, and social inclusion, with particular attention to the challenges faced by women with immigrant backgrounds.

Running in parallel with the summer school, the WISE project partners will meet during a Transnational Project Meeting (TPM) to present the project and the competence framework, mentor the student teams, and participate in panel discussions throughout the programme.

The summer school also marks an exciting milestone for WISE, as the students' work will contribute to the first pilot implementation of the WISE Financial Intelligence Competence Framework. Their creativity, international perspectives, and feedback will help shape innovative educational tools that will be further developed within the project.

Together, research, education, and international collaboration are creating new ways to strengthen financial intelligence and empower communities.

🌍 A regular working meeting of the partners of the Erasmus+ project WISE4Women – Financial Intelligence of Immigrant Women for Independent Stability and Empowerment recently took place.

The meeting provided an important opportunity to review the current progress of the project, coordinate upcoming activities, and further strengthen cooperation among all partners.

🎯 The main goal of WISE4Women is to equip adult educators and learners — especially immigrant women — with financial literacy, economic resilience skills, and practical financial knowledge. Through this initiative, the project aims to help women confidently navigate financial systems, make informed decisions, and achieve greater economic independence.

During the meeting, partners continued their work on WP2: Financial Intelligence Competence Framework, a key project result that will serve as a structured foundation for future learning materials, training activities, and practical tools.

A sincere thank you to all project partners for their dedication, valuable contributions, and strong collaboration. Together, we are making steady progress toward empowering immigrant women through financial education, inclusion, and European cooperation.
