MABUHAY ang Wikang Filipino!

KAISA natin ang Komisyon ng Wikang Filipino (KWF) sa paggunita nitong Buwan ng Wikang Pambansa, na may temang, “Wikang Filipino at AI: Kasangkapan sa Pananaliksik at Tulay sa Yaman ng Impormasyon”.

Kasangkapan ang artificial intelligence (AI) para maiangat pa lalo ang kalidad ng saliksik na inihahandog ng mga Pilipino, unang-una, para sa mga kapuwa Pilipino. Habang kinakasangkapan ang AI, patuloy pa ring tinatahak ng wikang Filipino ang landas ng intelektuwalisasyon na magbubunga ng panloob at panlabas na pagbabago sa bansa. Sa ganitong paraan, kapuwa ang AI at wikang Filipino ay nagiging tulay na gagamitin ng mga Pilipino para sa kanilang pinapangarap na magandang bukas. Kung sa gayon, kinililala ng tema ang magkaugnay na papel ng wikang Filipino at AI para sa makabansang gawain ng pananaliksik. Ito’y panawagan para sa responsableng paggamit ng AI habang tinitiyak na may makabuluhang espasyo ang Wikang Pambansa sa mga usaping may kinalaman sa mga umuusbong na teknolohiya at kaugnay na usaping pang-etika rito.

Itinatag noong 1991 sa pamamagitan ng Batas Republika Bilang 7104, ang KWF ang opisyal na ahensya ng pamahalaan na nagtataguyod, nag-uugnay, at nagsasaliksik para sa pagpapaunlad at pagpapalaganap ng wikang Filipino at iba pang katutubong wika sa bansa.

Earlier, Alex defeated world no. 10 and four-time Grand Slam semifinalist Elina Svitolina of Ukraine 6-3, 6-4 in the quarterfinals.

As an opera singer most notably as “Sisa” in fellow National Artist for Music Felipe de Leon’s “Noli me tangere” opera, as voice teacher to generations of the country’s leading opera singers, as composer and librettist collaborating with other National Artists in creating several masterworks for the stage, as television host (the long-running “Little Night of Music”), as director and producer of hundreds of productions for the Philippine stage, and as arts and culture manager, the “Grand Dame of the Philippine stage” has been at the heart and center of the artistic and cultural life of the nation for almost seven decades. The coloratura soprano was the first Filipino to gain admission to the prestigious Curtis Institute of Music in Philadelphia the most exclusive college in the United States. Her passion, dedication and vocation to popularize and “Filipinize” opera as the complete art form on stage, radio and TV across and beyond the Philippines drew new record numbers of Filipino audiences, fans and devotees of music and the performing arts. TODAY 80 years ago, Philippine Airlines became the first Asian airline to cross the the Great Pacific, carrying home 40 American servicemen on a 41-hour journey from Manila (Nielsen Airport in Makati) to Oakland, California, with stopovers in Guam, Kwajalein and Honolulu. The historic flight was performed by the legendary Douglas DC-4 aircraft, chartered from Transocean Airlines. PAL would acquire its own DC-4 four months later, beginning scheduled commercial passenger services between Manila and San Francisco (Oakland airport). The direct flights between Manila and California (Los Angeles and San Francisco) using widebodies including the B747’s before, and the B777’s and the A350’s today have become PAL’s so-called bread-and-butter routes.
