The City of Kigali Vice Mayor in charge of Urbanization and Infrastructure Dusabimana Fulgence hosted a town hall meeting with members of the Rwanda Institute of Architects as part of Architecture Week.

Discussions focused on streamlining building permit procedures, accountability of professionals in the construction sector as well as clarifying how the new Land Use Plan aligns with the existing City Master Plan and what this means for zoning regulations in practice.

Architects were reminded to always ensure sustainability in every assignment undertaken and result oriented projects for 2050.

Today, City of Kigali Mayor Samuel Dusengiyumva and Mr. Haim Bibas, Mayor of Modi’in-Maccabim-Reut, State of Israel, signed a Twin Cities Agreement, marking a new chapter of cooperation between the two cities.

Through this partnership, Kigali and Modi’in-Maccabim-Reut will deepen collaboration in key areas, including smart city development, urban planning, sustainable green mobility and culture.

The agreement will also promote the exchange of knowledge, expertise and innovative solutions to support the sustainable development of both cities.
