Earlier today, the Deputy Chief Gender Monitor, Florien H. Rurihose, officiated the opening of the Gender Management Information System (GMIS) Testing Workshop in Bugesera District.

Organized by the Gender Monitoring Office (GMO) in collaboration with Innovations for Poverty Action (IPA), the three-day workshop brings together district statisticians and technical experts to test and validate the Gender Management Information System (GMIS) ahead of its rollout.

The workshop aims to enhance the system's technical and operational performance while strengthening participants' capacity to generate, manage, and utilize gender-responsive data for evidence-based planning, policymaking, and decision-making.

In his remarks, the Deputy Chief Gender Monitor emphasized that quality gender data is fundamental to advancing gender equality, strengthening accountability, and enabling institutions to develop inclusive policies and deliver responsive public services that leave no one behind.

By strengthening gender data systems, GMO and IPA are contributing to evidence-based governance and accelerating Rwanda's journey toward inclusive and sustainable development.

Aujourd'hui, le partenariat avec le Haut Conseil à l'Égalité Haut Conseil à l'Egalité était au cœur de la visite de courtoisie effectuée par l'Ambassadrice de France au Rwanda, Mme Aurélie Royet-Gounin, auprès de la Chief Gender Monitor, Mme Umutoni Gatsinzi Nadine.

This afternoon, the Gender Monitoring Office (GMO) and Uyisenga N'Imanzi signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to strengthen collaboration in promoting accountability for gender equality and improving support services for survivors of gender-based violence (GBV).

The partnership will focus on enhancing accountability for gender equality, expanding access to therapy and psychosocial services, and strengthening support for GBV survivors, including teen mothers, their children, and their families. Through this collaboration, the two institutions will work together to ensure that vulnerable individuals and families receive the care, protection, and support they need to rebuild their lives.

This partnership reflects a shared commitment to promoting dignity, inclusion, and resilience while contributing to safer communities where everyone can thrive.

Together, we are reinforcing our efforts to ensure that no one is left behind.

Kuri uyu wa Gatatu, Umugenzuzi Mukuru wa Gender Monitoring Office (GMO), Umutoni Gatsinzi Nadine, afatanyije n'Umunyamabanga Uhoraho muri Minisiteri y'Umutekano mu Gihugu (MININTER), Sesonga Benjamin, batangije amahugurwa y'abakozi ba GMO na ASSETIP agamije kongerera ubushobozi mu kwirinda inkongi y'umuriro.

Aya mahugurwa yahuje ibiganiro n'umukoro ngiro, aho abakozi bagize umwanya wo gushyira mu bikorwa ubumenyi bahawe. Bitoje uko bakwitwara mu gihe habaye inkongi y'umuriro, uko bakoresha neza ibikoresho bizimya umuriro, n'uburyo bwo gukurikiza amabwiriza yo gutabara no kwimura abantu mu buryo butekanye, hagamijwe kurengera ubuzima bw'abantu n'umutekano w'ibintu.

Kuri uyu wa Kane, ubuyobozi n’abakozi ba Gender Monitoring Office (GMO) na ASSETIP bifatanyije n’Abanyarwanda mu kwibuka ku nshuro ya 32 Jenoside yakorewe Abatutsi mu 1994. Iki gikorwa cyabereye ku Rwibutso rwa Jenoside rwa Mutete, ruri mu Murenge wa Mutete, Akarere ka Gicumbi, ruruhukiyemo imibiri y’abazize Jenoside isaga 1,096.

Abitabiriye uyu muhango basobanuriwe amateka ya Jenoside yakorewe Abatutsi mu 1994 n’urugendo rw’umusaraba abaruhukiye muri uru rwibutso banyuzemo. Ni umwanya wabafashije kuzirikana amateka no gushimangira inshingano zo kuyasigasira no kuyigiraho.

Earlier today, Chief Gender Monitor, Umutoni Gatsinzi Nadine received Tikikel Tadele Alemu, Acting Country representative of UN Women Rwanda for strategic discussions on strengthening collaboration between the Gender Monitoring Office and UN Women.

Their discussions focused on key areas of collaboration, including Gender Responsive Budgeting (GRB), strengthening Gender Accountability at both national and decentralized levels, advancing gender research, and enhancing gender data systems to support inclusive and sustainable development.

The meeting reaffirmed the shared commitment to promoting gender equality and women’s empowerment in Rwanda.
